What the editor does

The editor decides what MatterCheck covers, sets the methodology and evidence rules, and is responsible for corrections.

How MatterCheck content is made

Research and drafting are AI-assisted (see how our content is made), working from fetched, dated official platform, manufacturer and CSA certification pages. Separate AI fact-check passes and automated checks compare claims with the sources before publishing. There is no hands-on test lab and no devices are tested by MatterCheck. Ratings that need hands-on evidence rely on dated third-party tests. When something is unconfirmed, the rating is Unknown.

Independence

MatterCheck is not affiliated with Apple, Google, Amazon, Samsung, Nabu Casa, Athom (Homey), Hubitat or the Connectivity Standards Alliance. There are no paid placements.
