Changelog
Dated changes to cells, confidence, and the site.
v1.06 — Google Home check on water valves, water heaters, pumps and speakers; three confidence changes (2026-10-18 SGT)
Four Google Home cells were checked again against Google's Matter device list, clusters page, automation help and release notes, and for dated tests of Matter devices added directly to Google Home (not through a bridge). No value changes and three confidence changes: water valves, water heaters and speakers move from High to Med; pumps stay Med.
- Water valves × Google Home: values stay not supported; confidence High → Med. The only basis is that Google's Matter device list (Oct 2026) has no water valve entry and calls unlisted types "not officially supported". That list also leaves out water leak sensors, which Google Home does support, so a missing entry is weak proof. Google's clusters page (Oct 2026) maps the valve control cluster to open/close. No independent test found.
- Water heaters × Google Home: values stay not supported; confidence High → Med. Same missing-entry basis; Google's clusters page has no water-heater rows and its developer device list has no water heater type. No Matter water heater product exists yet (Matter Survey, Oct 2026), so nothing can be tested.
- Pumps × Google Home: no change (supported, Med). Pump is on Google's Matter device list and generic on/off starters and actions apply, but no Matter pump is sold, so no independent test exists.
- Speakers × Google Home: values stay supported (volume and on/off only, not media playback); confidence High → Med. Google lists Speaker, maps volume to speakers, and its automation help has a "volume on media device" starter (Jan 2026) and a set-volume action (no mute). But no independent test of a Matter speaker added directly to Google Home was found; only some Philips smart TVs use the Matter speaker type, and the one report (Feb 2026) used a bridge.
- Google Home release-notes check: Google's release-notes page says its notes are "generated with the help of Gemini and may require updates or corrections". Of the 12 Google Home cells that cite it, 11 have every such claim also backed by another official Google page. The exception is buttons and switches × Google Home: "control: partial" (a button shows as its own configurable tile but can't be operated) rests officially only on the Jun 2026 release note, with an independent Matter Alpha review (Feb 2026) showing the button as its own device. No change while we decide how to treat AI-assisted official pages.
- Release notes: the newest entry is still Oct 14, 2026, with nothing on valves, water heaters, pumps or Matter speakers.
- Methodology page: wording now matches the site's "Check a device" filter name.
- Matrix High 77 / Med 43 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (106).
v1.05 — legal pages published and site opened to search; no rating changes (2026-10-18 SGT)
We published our legal pages and opened the site to search engines. Still no ads, no affiliate links, no analytics and no cookies. The “Preview · beta” label is removed.
- Added Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and Affiliate Disclosure, linked from every page footer and the sitemap. Operator is GetMatterCheck, contact [email protected], governed by Singapore law.
- Privacy Policy covers today’s no-ads, no-analytics, no-cookies setup and what would change if Google AdSense ads are switched on later, including a consent message for EEA, UK and Switzerland visitors.
- Opened to search engines: robots.txt now allows crawling and pages are no longer marked noindex.
- No rating, data or device changes. Matrix stays High 80 / Med 40 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged at 106.
v1.04 — prepared for future ads with reserved hidden ad spaces; no rating changes (2026-10-18 SGT)
We prepared the site for advertising later. No ads are shown yet, and no ad or third-party script loads. Reserved, clearly labelled “Advertisement” spaces stay hidden until ads are switched on and are sized to prevent page jumps when ads load.
- Added hidden ad spaces: home page below the quick check and after the matrix; top of each device-type page after At a glance; products list every 20 products.
- No rating, data or device changes. Matrix stays High 80 / Med 40 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged at 106.
v1.03 — moved to getmattercheck.com and tightened site security; no rating changes (2026-10-18 SGT)
We've moved the site to its permanent home at getmattercheck.com and made several behind-the-scenes security improvements. Nothing about the ratings, compatibility data, or device coverage has changed — this update is about where the site lives and how it protects your visit.
- The site now lives at getmattercheck.com, with every page using clean, shareable links.
- Added a stricter security policy that blocks third-party scripts, inline code, and framing, and enforces encrypted connections.
- All pages now include proper social sharing and search metadata (titles, descriptions, and canonical links) for when the site is ready to be listed on search engines.
- The preview badge remains, and search engines are still asked not to index the site until launch is approved.
- Matrix High 80 / Med 40 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (106).
v1.02 — Google Home and Apple Home check on water leak sensors; no rating changes (2026-10-18 SGT)
Two cells (water leak sensors × Google Home and × Apple Home) were checked again for Google and Apple docs and dated 2026 tests of Matter leak sensors added directly to each app (not through a bridge), plus Amazon, SmartThings and Google Home follow-ups. No value changes and no confidence changes; both cells keep their values with newer sources or dated "nothing found" notes.
- Water leak sensors × Google Home: no change (automation trigger stays Y, confidence Med). Google's automation help still lists water leak sensors with "leak" and "no leak" starters, but Google's Matter developer device list still has no water leak detector entry, and only owner posts show a Matter leak sensor starting a Google Home automation. New tests: WIRED (Sep 2026) added a Shelly Flood Gen4 with its Matter code; early tests did not alert in the app, later ones did, but no automation was tested. Paul Thurrott (May 2026) could not get an IKEA KLIPPBOK to pair with Google Home after several tries.
- Water leak sensors × Apple Home: no change (automation trigger stays Y, confidence Med). Three independent reviews now show a Matter leak sensor starting an Apple Home automation: HomeKit News (Jan 2026, IKEA KLIPPBOK), PCMag (Mar 2026, a Shelly Flood Gen4 turned a bulb red when it detected water) and homekit.reviews (Jul 2026). 9to5Mac, Kiwi Smart Tech, Paul Thurrott and Matter Alpha show leak state, battery and alerts. Apple still has not published anything naming Matter leak sensors: its Matter accessory list and Works with Apple Home list still leave them out, and iOS 27.1 release notes are not out yet.
- Amazon Alexa watch: Amazon's Matter page still lists water leak detectors without saying what Alexa does with them, and its smart home release notes (newest Jul 2026) are unchanged; no Amazon change.
- SmartThings watch: SmartThings' IKEA page (Sep 2026) still lists ALPSTUGA for environmental monitoring only, so SmartThings air quality stays Med; no SmartThings change.
- Google Home release notes: the newest entry (Oct 14, 2026) adds nothing on leak sensors; no Google change.
- Matrix High 80 / Med 40 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (106).
v1.01 — easier navigation and clearer pages; no rating changes (2026-10-18 SGT)
A design and navigation review of every page. No matrix values, confidence ratings or product entries changed.
- Home: a new headline and a "Check a device" box (device type, platform, what you want it to do) now sit at the top, and the matrix starts right after the legend instead of several screens down. The legend now explains the confidence labels. Recent rating changes moved into a collapsed list below the matrix.
- Menu: "Will this do X?" is now "Check a device" and "SKUs" is now "Products". On phones the menu is a single scrolling row, so it covers far less of the screen. The footer now links to how we check, the changelog, hubs and multi-admin on every page.
- Device type pages: an "At a glance" table compares all five platforms at the top; long research notes are folded under "Research notes"; new links to products of that type.
- Check a device: plain-English choices ("Use it to start an automation"), and the page address now updates so an answer can be bookmarked or shared. Sources show the website name instead of the full address.
- Products: each product's details, notes and sources are folded so the list is quicker to scan; a device type page can link straight to a filtered list.
- Device types index: grouped into Lighting, Sensors & alarms, Climate & air and other groups.
- Errors: the "page not found" page now has the menu and helpful links, and a data-loading failure shows a plain message instead of a technical one.
v1.00 — Apple Home check on smoke / CO alarms and air quality sensors; no rating changes (2026-10-18 SGT)
Two Apple Home cells (smoke / CO alarms and air quality sensors) were checked again for Apple docs and dated 2025–2026 tests of Matter devices added directly to Apple Home (not through a bridge), plus Amazon, SmartThings and Google Home follow-ups. No value changes and no confidence changes; both cells keep their values with newer sources or dated "nothing found" notes.
- Smoke / CO alarms × Apple Home: no change (automation trigger stays Y, confidence Med). Three independent hands-on reviews now show Matter smoke alarms starting Apple Home automations: Matthias Petrat (Apr 2025, a Heiman alarm turns every light on at night), MESH (Jun 2025, Sensereo MS-1 offers Add Automation) and Mark's Tech Blogs (Apr 2026, Sensereo MSC-1 turns every light on; the review does not say which app runs it). Apple still has not published anything naming Matter smoke or CO alarms: its Matter accessory list and Works with Apple Home list still leave them out, and the iOS 27, iOS 26.7, HomePod 27 and tvOS 27 release notes add nothing. Apple Home cannot run the alarm's self-test. HomePod listening for alarm sounds is a separate, non-Matter feature.
- Air quality sensors × Apple Home: no change (automation trigger stays Y, confidence High). Apple's Works with Apple Home list still names air quality sensors as a supported Matter category. The Smart Home Blog (Jul 2026, five IKEA ALPSTUGA units) and Matter Alpha's Sonoff AirGuard review (Dec 2025) back automation use. Caveat: the trigger is the overall air quality level; owners report CO2 and PM2.5 cannot be separate triggers, and one saw only a single combined Air Quality tile.
- Amazon Alexa watch: Amazon's Matter page and smart home release notes (newest Jul 2026) still say nothing about Matter smoke / CO or air quality devices starting routines; no Amazon change.
- SmartThings watch: SmartThings' IKEA page (Sep 2026) still lists ALPSTUGA for environmental monitoring only, so SmartThings air quality stays Med; no SmartThings change.
- Google Home release notes: the newest entry (Oct 14, 2026) still adds no Matter CO level display, air-quality starter or pressure starter; no Google change.
- Matrix High 80 / Med 40 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (106).
v0.99 — Alexa check on smoke / CO alarms and air quality sensors; no rating changes (2026-10-18 SGT)
Two Amazon Alexa cells (smoke / CO alarms and air quality sensors) were checked again for Amazon docs and dated 2025–2026 tests of Matter devices added directly to an Echo (not through a bridge or skill), plus a SmartThings air quality follow-up. No value changes and no confidence changes; all three cells keep their values with newer sources or dated "nothing found" notes.
- Smoke / CO alarms × Amazon Alexa: no change (automation trigger stays Y, confidence Med). It still rests on one independent review (Matter Alpha, Feb 2026: Alexa offers triggers for smoke level, CO level and hardware fault) and one community owner (Jan 2026: a Heiman Matter CO alarm paired directly to an Echo). Newer reviews (MESH Apr 2026, BreatheSafeAir Jun and Oct 2026) show Alexa displays smoke and CO alarm states but did not test routines, and Amazon's own Matter page, release notes and routine help still say nothing about alarms starting routines. Alexa's sound detection of alarm beeps is a separate, non-Matter feature.
- Air quality sensors × Amazon Alexa: no change (automation trigger stays Unknown). No report found of a Matter air quality sensor such as IKEA ALPSTUGA, added directly to an Echo, starting an Alexa routine.
- Air quality sensors × SmartThings: no change (confidence stays Med). A new hands-on review (SmartThings Polska, May 2026) shows ALPSTUGA routines can use air quality level, CO2 and PM2.5 thresholds as conditions, but it is not an official SmartThings source.
- Google Home release notes: the newest entry (Oct 14, 2026) still adds no Matter CO level display, air-quality starter or pressure starter; no Google change.
- Matrix High 80 / Med 40 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (106).
v0.98 — SmartThings and Home Assistant check on smoke / CO alarms and air quality sensors; SmartThings air quality confidence now Med (2026-10-18 SGT)
Four cells (smoke / CO alarms and air quality sensors on SmartThings and Home Assistant) were checked again for official docs and dated 2025–2026 tests of Matter devices added directly (not through a bridge). No value changes and one confidence change; the other three cells keep their values with newer sources.
- Air quality sensors × SmartThings: values unchanged, confidence High → Med. Several SmartThings Community owners (Dec 2025 – Feb 2026) run routines on IKEA ALPSTUGA CO2 and PM2.5 readings, but one found PM2.5 updates too rare for reliable routines, and several saw no CO2 / PM2.5 numbers until they switched the device driver and back. SmartThings' own IKEA guide (Sep 2026) promises routines for IKEA's humidity, door and motion sensors but only "environmental monitoring" for ALPSTUGA. Med until an official statement or independent review covers air-quality routines.
- Smoke / CO alarms × SmartThings: no change. First dated hands-on reviews attached: Matter Alpha (Feb 2026) found the Sensereo MSC-1 on SmartThings shows smoke and CO states, hardware status and battery and can trigger automations on alarm conditions; MESH (Apr 2026) also saw CO status and CO level (its smoke-sensitivity setting does nothing). A community owner (Jan 2026) says a Heiman Matter CO alarm works with Home Monitor.
- Smoke / CO alarms × Home Assistant: no change. Home Assistant's automation editor now has dedicated "Smoke detected" and "Carbon monoxide detected" triggers (the default for everyone since HA 2026.7, Jul 2026). HA also offers a self-test button for Matter alarms that an automation can press; we still rate automation action as N for alarms while that question is open.
- Air quality sensors × Home Assistant: no change. HA's automation editor has dedicated air-quality triggers (CO2, PM2.5, VOC and others crossing a threshold). The Smart Home Blog (Jul 2026) ran five ALPSTUGA sensors in HA over Matter, and owners in an HA Community thread (Jan – Jul 2026) use ALPSTUGA CO2 / PM2.5 thresholds to run fans and alerts.
- Google Home release notes: the newest entry (Oct 14, 2026) still adds no Matter CO level display, air-quality starter or pressure starter; no Google change.
- Matrix High 80 / Med 40 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (106).
v0.97 — Google smoke / CO and Script Editor check; air quality as a Google starter is now Partial (2026-10-18 SGT)
Three Google Home cells (smoke / CO alarms, air quality sensors and pressure sensors) were checked again for official docs and dated 2025–2026 tests, looking for a second review of a Matter smoke + CO alarm added directly to Google Home and for automation starters that only work in Google's Script Editor. One value and one confidence change; the other two cells keep their values with newer sources or dated "nothing found" notes.
- Air quality sensors × Google Home: automation trigger Y → Partial, confidence High → Med. The Google Home app's automation editor has no air-quality, CO2 or PM2.5 starter, and an IKEA ALPSTUGA owner (Feb 2026) found none. Google's Script Editor has an official example that starts when air quality is poor, but it is generic and no published test uses a Matter air quality sensor. Starters that only work in the Script Editor are rated Partial, the same rule as light sensors in v0.96.
- Smoke / CO alarms × Google Home: no change. The app has smoke-detected and carbon-monoxide-detected starters. The only independent review in Google Home (Sensereo, Apr 2026) still shows smoke status and alerts but no CO status or level, and a Heiman developer (Jan 2026) reports battery and hardware status always unavailable. No published test has used a Matter smoke or CO alarm to start a Google Home automation. X-Sense alarms reach Matter only through a bridge.
- Pressure sensors × Google Home: no change (no automation trigger). The app has no pressure starter and no Google document or user report shows one in the Script Editor. Google links Matter pressure sensors to its generic sensor readings, so this may change, as it did for light level.
- Matrix High 81 / Med 39 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (106).
v0.96 — Google Home and Home Assistant evidence refresh; light level as a Google starter is now Partial (2026-10-18 SGT)
Google Home and Home Assistant cells that had no recent hands-on report of a Matter device added directly (not through a bridge) were checked again for official docs and dated 2025–2026 tests. One value and one confidence change; the other 21 cells keep their values with newer sources or dated "nothing found" notes.
- Light sensors × Google Home: automation trigger N → Partial, confidence High → Med. Google maps Matter light sensors to its generic sensor state, and an owner of a Matter-over-Thread presence and light sensor (GL.iNet LWR01, Jul 2026) reports that a Script Editor starter on light level works. The app's automation editor still has no light-level starter, and Tapo lists it as unsupported, so this only works in the Script Editor.
- Smoke / CO alarms × Google Home: no change, but a caveat: in a 2026 review, Google Home showed a Sensereo smoke / CO alarm's smoke status and still sent smoke and CO alerts, but did not show CO status or level, and battery status was often unavailable.
- Air quality sensors × Google Home: no change; Google's sensor states name CO2 and PM2.5 for Script Editor starters, but an IKEA ALPSTUGA owner (Feb 2026) found no starter for them in the app's automation editor.
- Google Home lights, fans, purifiers, robot vacuums, appliances and energy meters: values unchanged. Newer Google release notes and first dated hands-on reports (IKEA KAJPLATS bulb, Roborock Qrevo C Pro over Matter) attached; no 2025–2026 automation test of these devices found.
- Home Assistant: values unchanged. Added Works with Home Assistant certifications (SwitchBot purifiers and K20+ Pro vacuum, Heiman smoke, CO and leak sensors, Eve Energy) and dated 2025–2026 hands-on reports for smoke / CO alarms, vacuums, light and air quality sensors, white-spectrum bulbs and plug energy meters. Caveats noted for slow light-level updates over Matter and an extra colour wheel on some IKEA bulbs.
- Matrix High 82 / Med 38 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (106).
v0.95 — Can a thermostat, fan or robot vacuum start an Alexa routine? Still unknown, no rating changes (2026-10-18 SGT)
The ten Alexa cells whose trigger was still unknown were checked again for Amazon docs and independent tests of Matter devices added directly to an Echo, mainly looking for a thermostat, fan, air purifier or robot vacuum that starts a routine (not one that a routine switches). No value or confidence changes. All ten triggers stay unknown.
- Thermostats: Amazon's Matter table (read Oct 2026, page updated Apr 2026) maps thermostats to control only, and Amazon's routine help shows thermostats only being adjusted by a routine. A 2022 Amazon support reply quoted on GitHub listed motion, contact, doorbell, security panel and lock as the only starters for devices linked through a maker's skill. That points to no, but it is old, predates switch and plug starters and isn't about Matter. No review of a Matter thermostat on an Echo tried it as a starter.
- Fans and air purifiers: new reports only show purifiers being switched by routines: The Verge (Sep 2025) had Alexa+ add a new purifier to a routine (connection not stated), and Les Alexiens (Feb 2025) used the SwitchBot Air Purifier Table through SwitchBot's skill and hub, not Matter. PCMag (Apr 2026) didn't test routines.
- Robot vacuums: Amazon's table lists only the vacuum's run mode (idle, cleaning, mapping), so Alexa may not see docked or finished states, but the table describes control, not routine starters. Roborock's "cleaning finished" starters come from its own Alexa skill, not Matter.
- Plugs, lights, air quality sensors, appliances, leak sensors and window coverings: no new reports either way; Amazon's Matter table and release notes (newest entry July 2026) are unchanged.
- Matrix High 83 / Med 37 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (106).
v0.94 — Can a thermostat, fan or air purifier start an Apple Home automation? Still unknown, no rating changes (2026-10-17 SGT)
The two Apple Home cells whose trigger was still unknown were checked again for Apple docs and independent tests of Matter devices added directly to the Home app, looking for a thermostat, fan or air purifier that starts an automation (not one that an automation switches). No value or confidence changes. Both triggers stay unknown.
- Thermostats: Apple's automation help says an automation can start when an accessory "turns on or off" or "opens", and mentions thermostats only as something Siri can adjust. Apple's Home Collection announcement (Oct 2026) shows its new Matter thermostats only being adjusted by scenes, Adaptive Temperature and arrive or leave automations. Owners of HomeKit-only ecobee thermostats (2023–2024) say the thermostat isn't offered as a starter, only its temperature reading, which points to no, but those aren't Matter tests. No review of a Matter thermostat (Aqara W200, Tado X, Nest 4th gen, Honeywell X2S) tried it as a starter either way.
- Fans and air purifiers: new tests still show Matter fans and purifiers only being switched by automations: Mark's Tech Blogs (Sep 2026, SwitchBot Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro), HomeKits.de (Mar 2025) and smarthomeblog.de (Apr 2025, SwitchBot Air Purifier Table, whose built-in air-quality sensor only reports while it runs, so it can't switch the purifier on), and a DREO TurboPoly 765S review (Aug 2026, pairing only). A Nov 2025 home tour starts an automation when an exhaust fan turns on, but that fan's connection isn't identified. Apple's Matter list (May 2026) still leaves out fans and purifiers, so Apple's general on/off wording isn't used for them.
- Matrix High 83 / Med 37 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (106).
v0.93 — Can a window shade start an automation? Cross-platform check, no rating changes (2026-10-17 SGT)
All five window covering cells were checked for official docs and independent tests of Matter shades added directly to each app, mainly to see whether a shade opening or closing can start an automation, and whether automations can move a shade. No value or confidence changes. No independent test of a Matter shade starting an automation was found on any platform, so where the trigger is rated it rests on each platform's own docs.
- Apple Home: Apple's automation help says an automation can start when an accessory "turns on or opens". New tests show automations moving Matter shades: Practical HomeKit (Sep 2025, Eve MotionBlinds closing when the TV turns on) and Wirecutter (May 2026, SmartWings).
- Google Home: Google's help lists "window coverings are opened or closed" as a starter and "open or close window coverings" as an action. Wirecutter (May 2026) found automations with SmartWings shades reliable, replacing a January 2025 video where a shade couldn't be added to an automation yet. SmartHomeScene (Oct 2026) added five Graywind shades by QR code.
- Amazon Alexa: unchanged. Shades added directly to an Echo work in routines; shades shared from a Matter bridge still don't appear in the routine builder, and whether a shade can start a routine is still unknown.
- SmartThings: Mighty Gadget (updated Mar 2026) paired SmartWings shades directly to a SmartThings hub and a routine closes them from a Hue switch. In June 2026 these shades could stay stuck on "opening" or "closing" after app commands, which could stop open/closed routines firing; a driver fix was confirmed in late July.
- Home Assistant: HA's docs list shade, blind and curtain opened and closed triggers, and its Matter code gives Matter shades those types. Mighty Gadget shared the same shades to Home Assistant, where an automation opens them each morning if they're closed.
- Matrix High 83 / Med 37 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (106).
v0.92 — Wall switches with Matter buttons: two Inovelli switches re-filed, Aqara W100 listed under buttons, two GE Cync switches added (2026-10-17 SGT)
Some wall switches and sensors also show their physical buttons to Matter apps as separate button devices. This pass checked every light, plug and switch SKU for those extra button endpoints and for the device type that actually switches the load. No matrix value or confidence changes.
- Inovelli White 2-1 Switch (VTM31-SN): on/off light → dimmable light row, also listed under buttons. The switch reports its load as a Matter dimmable light. CSA's ledger lists it as a "Dimmer Switch", but that is the switch's link for controlling other lights, not the load. Its up, down and config buttons send single, multi-tap and hold presses; Inovelli says multi-taps work only in Apple Home, Home Assistant and SmartThings.
- Inovelli White On/Off Switch with humidity (VTM30-SN): on/off light → plug row, also listed under buttons and temperature/humidity. CSA and the switch itself report a Matter plug-in unit, so Apple Home adds it as an outlet (you can change Display As to Light). Its humidity and temperature readings show as Matter sensors.
- Aqara Climate Sensor W100: now also listed under buttons. Its three buttons show as Matter buttons; Matter Alpha's 2025 test used short, long and double presses in Apple Home, but only one button in Alexa routines.
- New: GE Cync Keypad Dimmer (CSWDMBLK5T1/MSWF, High). CSA lists it as a Matter dimmable light; its two scene buttons also show as Matter buttons. Sold on GE's store.
- New: GE Cync On/Off Switch with Traveler (Paddle, Toggle, Button; Med). CSA lists all three styles as Matter on/off lights. GE's store now sells them, but the store page doesn't print the model number, so confidence is Med. This replaces the October 16 exclusion for having no store listing.
- Checked, no change: the Intecular InvisOutlet Pro's outlet touch pads show as buttons in community data, but Intecular doesn't say they work as scene buttons, so it isn't listed under buttons. No button endpoints were found on the other lights and plugs.
- Methodology: CSA's ledger keeps one primary type per product, and it can name a part that isn't the load (Inovelli). MatterCheck files a wall switch by the part that switches the light.
- Matrix High 83 / Med 37 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs 104 → 106 (High 97 / Med 8 / Low 1); exclusions 54 → 53.
v0.91 — Alexa motion, window covering and contact sensor recency check, no rating changes (2026-10-17 SGT)
Three Amazon Alexa cells rated High were rechecked for newer independent tests of Matter devices added directly to an Echo (not through a maker's hub or Alexa skill). No value or confidence changes; all three stay High.
- Motion sensors: a new independent test (gadget-review-lab, Mar 2026, updated Sep 2026) paired an IKEA MYGGSPRAY only to an Echo Show 8, and an Alexa routine started by motion switched on a smart plug; routines can also start when no motion is seen for a set time. The Aqara FP300 test (Frank's Easy Tech Corner, Mar 2026) still stands. Some users report the MYGGSPRAY dropping out of Alexa.
- Window coverings: no test newer than Wirecutter (May 2026, re-read): SmartWings shades and SmartWings curtains both worked in Alexa sunrise and sunset routines. A shade still can't be confirmed as the thing that starts a routine, and shades shared from a Matter bridge still don't appear in the routine builder.
- Contact sensors: no 2026 test found; the newest direct test is from October 2025.
- Matrix High 83 / Med 37 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (104).
v0.90 — Tapo S505 and Aqara Light Switch H2 US moved from buttons to the on/off light row (2026-10-17 SGT)
Two in-wall switches that switch a light circuit were still filed under Matter button (switch_button). CSA's certification ledger lists both as Matter On/Off Light, so under the v0.89 rule they now sit in the on/off light row, like the Kasa KS205. The Aqara H2 US is also still listed on the button page, because its extra buttons show up in Matter as separate buttons that send a single press. No matrix values or confidence changed; SKU confidence unchanged (High).
- Tapo S505: button → on/off light. CSA ledger: On/Off Light (certs Dec 2022 and Mar 2025). A load switch with no dimming and no wired 3-way; nothing in Matter is a separate button.
- Aqara Light Switch H2 US: button → on/off light, also listed under buttons. CSA ledger: On/Off Light for all three US models (2024 certs). Over Matter the extra buttons send single press only; double press, long press and decoupled mode need Aqara's Zigbee mode and an Aqara hub.
- Third Reality MT1 (CSA On/Off Light Switch) and IKEA BILRESA dual button and scroll wheel (CSA Generic Switch) stay buttons; each now cites its CSA ledger record.
- Button row SKUs: 5 → 3 primary (plus the Aqara H2 US as a secondary listing). On/off light row SKUs: 5 → 7.
- Matrix High 83 / Med 37 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (104).
v0.89 — Button control/action rule made consistent: action Partial→N on three platforms, Google control N→Partial (2026-10-17 SGT)
The Matter button (switch_button) row used two meanings for control (C) and automation action (A): some cells counted wall switches that switch a load, others treated the row as buttons. MatterCheck now uses one rule (see methodology, "Switches and buttons"): C = Partial when the button shows in the app as its own device but nothing on it can be operated; A = N because a Matter button has no commands. Buttons still start automations (T). Pairing, triggers and confidence are unchanged; all five cells stay High.
- Apple Home: action Partial→N. Buttons appear in Home with per-press actions, but an automation has nothing to command on a button. Control stays Partial.
- Google Home: control N→Partial. Google's release notes (Jun 2026) let you set button actions in the switch tile; press patterns are a starter only, so action stays N.
- Amazon Alexa: unchanged (control Partial, action N). Amazon's button interface (Sep 2026) has no voice commands and no directives; button names show in the Alexa app for routines.
- SmartThings: action Partial→N. Samsung's stock Matter driver (Jul 2026) registers no button commands; the button only reports presses. Control stays Partial.
- Home Assistant: action Partial→N. Home Assistant's Event docs describe button entities as momentary signals that offer triggers, not actions. Control stays Partial.
- Wall switches that switch a load certify as Matter On/Off Light and belong in the light row. Two SKUs still filed under switch_button (Tapo S505, Aqara Light Switch H2 US) are On/Off Light and will be re-typed in a later pass.
- Matrix High 83 / Med 37 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (104).
v0.88 — Button multi-press audit across all five platforms, no rating changes (2026-10-17 SGT)
All five Matter button (switch_button) cells were rechecked for which press types — single, double, long press, release, three or more presses — work as automation triggers in each consumer app, against official pages and independent tests of Matter buttons (mostly the IKEA BILRESA) added directly to each platform. No value or confidence changes; all five stay High. SmartThings and Home Assistant were High on official pages alone and now have independent tests attached.
- Apple Home: single, double and long press per button (Kiwi Smart Tech, Mar 2026; Fly Through Wires, Sep 2026; Matter Alpha Aqara W100, May 2025). No triple press or release. The BILRESA scroll wheel appears as nine buttons and cannot dim directly.
- Google Home: Google's button starter (app 4.8, Feb 2026) offers single or multi-press, long press and release. An independent test shows single and double press (Matter Alpha, Feb 2026); long press and release are not yet independently tested. Users report delays and missed presses.
- Amazon Alexa: single press only in practice. Double press and hold arrive as a single press, and some multi-button devices expose only one button to routines.
- SmartThings: single press, double press and hold per button (Matter Alpha BILRESA review, Jan 2026). No trigger for release after a hold, and single press waits briefly for a possible double press.
- Home Assistant: single and multi-press, long press and release are all available as triggers on the button's event entity (Courtney Rosenthal, Feb 2026; Kiwi Smart Tech, Mar 2026). Presses are not listed as device triggers, and scroll progress is not exposed.
- Dated negative searches recorded; matrix High 83 / Med 37 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (104).
v0.87 — Alexa button Med→High, leak and contact settle pass (2026-10-17 SGT)
The three Amazon Alexa cells left open by the v0.85 audit (button, leak sensor, contact sensor) were rechecked against Amazon's Matter documentation and independent tests of Matter devices added directly to Alexa. One confidence change: switch_button × amazon_alexa Med→High. Leak and contact sensor values are unchanged.
- Button: Amazon maps Matter buttons to an event that can start routines, and two independent tests now show it working: Matter Alpha's Aqara W100 review (May 2025; only one of its three buttons usable) and a Japanese review blog that paired an IKEA BILRESA straight to an Echo Show 8 and ran routines from it (Mar 2026). Single press only, plus reported drop-outs, remain caveats.
- Leak: trigger stays Unknown. Amazon still lists no Alexa capability for Matter leak detectors. PCMag's Shelly Flood Gen4 routine worked, but the Shelly cloud was also set up, so the Matter path is not proven. IKEA KLIPPBOK users report "not compatible" pairing errors.
- Contact sensor: stays High; the age flag is cleared by a 2025 blog test of an Aqara Matter sensor on an Echo Hub announcing door opens, which kept working during the October 2025 AWS outage.
- Dated negative searches recorded; matrix High 83 / Med 37 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (104).
v0.86 — Thermostat automation settle pass, no rating changes (2026-10-17 SGT)
All five thermostat cells (rated Med since the v0.81–v0.85 audits) were rechecked against each platform's automation help pages and independent reviews that add a Matter thermostat directly to the platform (Aqara W200, Nest Learning Thermostat 4th gen, Honeywell X2S/X8S, Tado X, Eve, Mysa). No value or confidence changes; all five stay Med.
- Apple Home: trigger stays Unknown. Apple's automation guide names accessories being controlled and sensors as starters, never thermostats, and no review tests a thermostat as a starter. Using a thermostat as an action now has an explicit test (Trusted Reviews, Tado X, Dec 2024: motion sets it to 18°C).
- Alexa: trigger stays Unknown. The Verge (Dec 2024) shared a Nest 4th gen into Alexa over Matter: control only, no routine test.
- Google Home, SmartThings, Home Assistant: trigger and action stay Yes on official pages, but no independent review runs a Matter thermostat in an automation. Home Assistant evidence is community-only (Aqara W200, Apr 2026); SmartThings' only test is still the 2025 Honeywell X2S failure.
- Dated negative searches recorded; matrix High 82 / Med 38 / Low 0 / 12 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (104).
v0.85 — Alexa leak trigger N→Unknown and button High→Med, Alexa High-bar audit (2026-10-17 SGT)
All six amazon_alexa cells that were still High were audited against Amazon's Matter categories table, the Alexa.SimpleEventSource doc (modified 2026-09-30) and independent dated reviews of Matter devices added directly to Alexa; the other 18 Alexa cells were already Med. 2 changes: leak × amazon_alexa automation_trigger N→Unknown, High→Med — Amazon still maps the Matter water leak detector to no Alexa feature, but PCMag (2026-03-16) added a Shelly Flood Gen4 (a certified Matter water leak detector) to Alexa with its Matter code and says a water-detected Alexa routine turned off a smart plug reliably; Shelly's own Alexa skill could also explain that routine, so this is recorded as Unknown, not Yes. switch_button × amazon_alexa High→Med (values unchanged) — Amazon says button presses can start Alexa routines, but only forum and Reddit users (IKEA BILRESA, single press only; double and hold count as single) confirm it, with reliability complaints and no independent review. Kept High with native hands-on: contact_sensor (NotEnoughTech 2024-04-11 + Pocket-lint 2024-05-12; no 2025–2026 Alexa test found yet), motion_occupancy (Frank's Easy Tech Corner 2026-03-31), window_covering (PCMag 2025-05-25 + Wirecutter 2026-05-08), pressure_sensor (Espressif native test 2026-07-23, still N). This completes the per-platform High-bar audits. Matrix High 82 / Med 38 / 12 Unknown.
v0.84 — Home Assistant thermostat High→Med, Home Assistant High-bar audit (2026-10-17 SGT)
Six home_assistant cells that were High on the Home Assistant Matter integration page alone were audited against Home Assistant's consumer automation docs (binary sensor, sensor, switch, lock and climate triggers and actions), Works with Home Assistant certifications (Eve 2025-04-29, Nuki 2025-07-03) and independent dated reviews of Matter devices added directly to Home Assistant. 1 confidence change: thermostat × home_assistant High→Med (P/C/T/A stay Y/Y/Y/Y) — Home Assistant documents thermostat triggers and actions, but independent reviews (ChrisHansenTech Aqara W200 2026-04-18, thesmarthome.blog Eve Thermo 2025-08-11) only show pairing and temperature control; none tests a Matter thermostat in an automation. Kept High with native hands-on attached: motion_occupancy (Teknik i Hemmet MYGGSPRAY 2025-12-31, TechteamGB 2026-02-20, Aqara W200 presence used as an automation trigger 2026-04-18), temp_humidity (Teknik i Hemmet TIMMERFLOTTE 2026-07-19), plug_outlet (chrissmart.de GRILLPLATS with tested automations 2026-08-11 + AnalisisGadgets 2026-05-18), door_lock (raspberry.tips Nuki Smart Lock Ultra 2026-09-16 + Derek Seaman Aqara U200 2024-07-13), contact_sensor (Techtest MYGGBETT 2026-01-28 + Teknik i Hemmet 2026-01-01). Thermostat is now Med on all five platforms. Matrix High 84 / Med 36 / 11 Unknown.
v0.83 — SmartThings thermostat High→Med, SmartThings High-bar audit (2026-10-17 SGT)
Six smartthings cells that were High on the SmartThings partners page and hub/Edge release notes were audited against SmartThings consumer IKEA Matter FAQ (2026-09-28) / blog (2026-04-20) and independent dated reviews of Matter devices added directly to SmartThings. 1 confidence change: thermostat × smartthings High→Med (P/C/T/A stay Y/Y/Y/Y) — partners lists Thermostat and the Edge thermostat driver exists (developer path), but no independent review shows a Matter thermostat working end-to-end in SmartThings; Matter Alpha's Honeywell X2S test (2025-06-26) paired over Matter but setpoint changes failed and automations did not work. Kept High with native hands-on attached: motion_occupancy (Techtest MYGGSPRAY 2026-02-11 + Rental Home Automator 2026-02-24), temp_humidity (Techtest TIMMERFLOTTE 2026-02-01), plug_outlet (Rental Home Automator GRILLPLATS 2026-09-23), door_lock (The Verge Kwikset Halo Select 2025-06-13 + Level Lock Pro 2025-08-26), contact_sensor (Rental Home Automator MYGGBETT 2026-02-24). Matrix High 85 / Med 35 / 11 Unknown.
v0.82 — Google Home thermostat High→Med, Google High-bar audit (2026-10-17 SGT)
Six google_home cells that were High on two Google developer pages only audited against consumer help 15684394/13127223 + independent dated native Matter hands-on. 1 confidence change: thermostat × google_home High→Med (P/C/T/A stay Y/Y/Y/Y) — official consumer page names thermostat local-temperature starter (2025-09-10) and set mode/temp action (2025-10-01), but no independent native Matter→Google Home thermostat hands-on (Mysa vendor-only; Nest 4th gen is Google-native in GHA; W200 forum pairing/Celsius bug only). Kept High with native hands-on attached: motion_occupancy (Android Police Matter occupancy trigger 2026-08-03), temp_humidity (How-To Geek TIMMERFLOTTE 2026-02-02), plug_outlet (9to5Google KP125M 2023-05-25 + Android Police Eve Energy 2026-05-02), door_lock (9to5Google Yale Matter 2025-09-22 + Verge Level Lock Pro 2025-08-26; Partial C/A for PIN/remote-unlock policy unchanged), contact_sensor (Android Police Eve door trigger <1s + Matter Alpha Eve 2024-07-22). Matrix High 86 / Med 34 / 11 Unknown.
v0.81 — Apple Home thermostat trigger Unknown, Apple High-bar audit (2026-10-17 SGT)
- Six Apple Home cells that were rated High on Apple's own pages alone were rechecked against independent 2025–2026 reviews of Matter devices added directly to Apple Home: motion/occupancy, temperature/humidity, light sensors, plugs, locks and thermostats.
- Thermostat on Apple Home: automation trigger Y → Unknown, confidence High → Med (pairing, control and action unchanged). No Apple page says a thermostat can start a Home automation, and reviews of the Matter Aqara W200 (April–May 2026) show it only as something automations and scenes control. Its built-in presence sensor can start automations, but that is counted under motion/occupancy. Users report the Home app does not offer a thermostat's heating or cooling state as a trigger. Those reports cover HomeKit thermostats and are not Matter-specific, so the value is Unknown rather than No. Mysa's own help page says Apple Home thermostat automations work reliably only in Auto mode.
- Kept High with dated reviews now attached: motion/occupancy and light sensors (IKEA MYGGSPRAY, Feb–Aug 2026: occupancy triggers and light-level "rises above / drops below" triggers), temperature/humidity (IKEA TIMMERFLOTTE, Feb and May 2026: humidity-triggered dehumidifier), plugs (IKEA GRILLPLATS Mar 2026, Tapo P110M Nov 2025) and locks (Aqara U400, Level Lock Pro, Schlage Sense Pro, Aug 2025–Jul 2026).
- Caveats: MYGGSPRAY light readings lag and read low; a lock's door open/closed sensor may not appear in Apple Home; some Thread locks and IKEA devices needed several pairing attempts.
- matrix High 87 / Med 33 / Low 0 / 11 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (104)
v0.80 — Apple Home Jan–Aug 2026 release-notes backfill (2026-10-17 SGT)
- Apple's release notes for January–August 2026 (iOS 26.2.1 through 26.6.1, HomePod software 26.3–26.6, tvOS 26.3–26.6), Apple's Matter accessory support page, the Works with Apple Home category list, and the WWDC26 (June 2026) iOS 27 preview were checked against all 24 Apple Home matrix cells. None of these added or removed a Matter device category in that window.
- No value or confidence changes. New 2026 hands-on reviews of Matter-over-Thread devices in Apple Home now back the existing ratings: an IKEA MYGGBETT contact sensor (status, notifications, automation trigger), an IKEA KAJPLATS bulb (brightness, colour temperature, Adaptive Lighting), and Bringnox and Kincmo roller blinds (position control). The blinds show no obstruction alerts and report charging status late.
- Robot vacuums: 2026 reviews (Matter Alpha, The Verge's Matic test) confirm start, pause, dock, room and suction control and use as an automation action. None shows a vacuum's state starting an automation, so the trigger stays No (Med).
- Still unchanged: fan and air purifier triggers stay Unknown (no test found); leak and smoke/CO sensors work but stay Med because Apple's own Matter list still does not name them; white-goods appliances stay unsupported (iOS 27 beta reports, June–July 2026); last_checked bumped on every Apple Home cell.
- matrix High 88 / Med 32 / Low 0 / 10 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (104)
v0.79 — Alexa motion sensors High, Alexa light sensors Med, Alexa Jan–Aug 2026 backfill (2026-10-17 SGT)
- Amazon's "What's New in Alexa-Enabled Smart Home" (January–August 2026: Matter 1.5 on Echo, a dedicated Matter categories page, commissioning and OTA guidance, plus two developer previews) and the live Matter device categories page were checked against all 24 Alexa matrix cells. Amazon has added no Matter device categories since November 2024.
- Motion / occupancy on Alexa: confidence Med → High (values unchanged, Y / Y / Y / N). An independent hands-on (2026-03-31) paired an Aqara FP300 directly over Thread to an Echo and ran Alexa Routines started by presence and by "no motion".
- Light sensor on Alexa: confidence High → Med (values unchanged, Y / Y / N / N). Makers disagree on whether Alexa shows the light level over Matter (Tapo says yes; Aqara's FP300 page says "except Alexa"), and Amazon maps light sensors to no Alexa feature. A light-level Routine trigger is still not supported.
- Temperature / humidity on Alexa stays Med: Amazon's Alexa+ page shows a temperature-started Routine example but does not say a Matter sensor can start it. The 9 Alexa routine-trigger Unknowns stay Unknown; last_checked bumped on every Alexa cell.
- matrix High 88 / Med 32 / Low 0 / 10 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (104)
v0.78 — SmartThings Jan–Aug 2026 release-notes backfill (2026-10-17 SGT)
- SmartThings hub firmware 0.59.9 / 0.60.12 / 0.61.6, Edge Matter driver commits, the IKEA Matter blog (2026-04-20), the Q1 Innovation Report, app Routine UX notes, and partners.smartthings.com/matter were checked against all 24 SmartThings matrix cells for 2026-01-01 through 2026-08-31.
- 0 value or confidence flips. Closures in the matter-window-covering driver (hub 0.61.6), IKEA BILRESA / dual-button Edge work, and plug-embedded energy monitoring only corroborate existing cells. Cameras, soil sensors, and irrigation stay out of the matrix. Hub 0.62.7 (September) was already covered in v0.76.
- Notes and sources refreshed on window covering, switch/button, and energy meter; last_checked bumped on every SmartThings cell. Energy meter stays Y / Partial / Partial / N Med (partners page still has no standalone Electric Meter).
- matrix High 88 / Med 32 / Low 0 / 10 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (104)
v0.77 — Google leak sensors, Google release-notes backfill (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Google Home leak sensors corrected from N/N/N/N to Y/Y/Y/N (confidence stays Med): Google's release notes (2026-02-02) and automation help now list Leak / No Leak starters for water leak sensors, and directly paired Matter leak sensors (IKEA KLIPPBOK, ThirdReality KM1) are reported working in Google Home, including as automation starters.
- Still Med: Google's Matter supported-devices table has no Water Leak Detector row, the hands-on reports are community-grade, and one early report (2026-02-03) found no leak option in the app's automation editor. Google sends no built-in leak alert; create a routine. Sensors paired through another hub's bridge may not be offered as starters.
- Google Home release notes from January to August 2026 checked against every Google Home cell: no other value or confidence changes. Robot vacuum notes now say the app's automation editor offers pause, resume and dock (no start) plus a "docked" starter; full start/stop stays available in the script editor.
- matrix High 88 / Med 32 / Low 0 / 10 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (104)
v0.76 — Google switch/button starters, Google leak confidence (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Google Home switch/button support corrected: pairs and automation trigger now Y for Matter switches and buttons, based on official Google release notes and independent hands-on testing with IKEA BILRESA.
- Control and action remain N for Google Home switches; Google's supported-devices table still lists no Generic Switch row.
- Google Home leak confidence lowered from High to Med: consumer help pages mention leak binary state starters, but no native Matter leak sensor hands-on is documented and the supported-devices table still lacks Water Leak Detector.
- Home Assistant 2026.9/2026.10, SmartThings 0.62.x, Apple iOS 27/27.0.1, and Amazon Alexa categories reviewed with no matrix field changes.
- matrix High 88 / Med 32 / Low 0 / 10 Unknown; SKUs unchanged (104)
v0.75 — legal drafts hidden, competitor naming removed (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Privacy, terms and affiliate draft pages taken offline until final text is ready; links removed from every footer and the sitemap.
- Matrix version label is now 0.7. Changelog wording tidied for the public preview (all entries and dates kept). Third-party site comparisons removed from public pages. No matrix value or confidence changes.
- Layout (rendered QA): at 760–1079 px wide the matrix table no longer pushes the whole page sideways — it now scrolls inside its own box (sticky header row over the page from 1080 px). Footer links are at least 24 px tall on wider screens for easier tapping/clicking. Checked on all 33 pages at phone (375 px), tablet (800 px) and desktop (1280 px) widths.
v0.74 preview — public-preview copy review (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Replaced leftover local-preview wording across all 35 pages (header badge, footer, notices) now that the site is a public preview on pages.dev (still noindex).
- Privacy, terms and affiliate pages relabelled as neutral drafts (not final legal text); SKU count corrected to 104. Methodology: removed internal ops notes, fixed the inventory table. No matrix value or confidence changes.
v0.73 — source-link liveness QA #2 (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Scope: second link-liveness + source-integrity pass over everything in the SKU data (564 unique URLs, 879 refs; 165 URLs new since the v0.53.1 pass). The link-checking script with retry and Markdown output, 1 s per-host gap, then a slow pass on HTTP 429s and second-network spot checks.
- Result: OK 469 + 8 same-document redirects (effective OK 477) · 86 unverifiable (36 HTTP 429 storefront rate limit, 30 TLS reset, 20 HTTP 403; 14 of them confirmed live from a second network, including the Amazon Matter device-categories page, Wirecutter and PCMag) · 0 new dead links. tevinge.com (expired domain) and the Shelly 3EM-63 Gen4 product page (moved) stay flagged, as before.
- Repairs: the matter.js ecosystem table moved from
project-chipto thematter-jsGitHub org — 3 Apple sources (pump, speaker, pressure sensor) now use the canonical URL (re-fetched; the table still supports the note). Removed 1 duplicate source link from Window covering × SmartThings. - Integrity: every source has an http/https URL, a type and an ISO date; none dated in the future. No value or confidence changes; matrix High 89 / Med 31 / 10 Unknown; pack 0.41 / 104 SKUs (High 96 / Med 7 / Low 1); exclusions 54. Site UI v0.73. Note: internal link-liveness notes.
v0.71 research — water-valve thicken #2, no site bump (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Goal: promote JINK Med→High, add ≥1 verified primary
water_valveSKU, or record a dated negative. Result: dated negative — 0 adds, 0 promotions. - DCL full re-scan (5,434 models): still exactly 1 primary Water Valve 0x0042 — Grimsholm Smart Irrigation Valve (CSA261G3MAT51283-24). CSA product search "valve"/"irrigation": no other Matter water valve (new SONOFF valve certs are Zigbee 3.0).
- Matter Survey lists 3 implementers: Grimsholm, the YoLink YS1606-UC Local Hub (a Matter bridge, not yet certified per a 2025-10-13 hands-on) and AUTOMATOUS.IO DIY Shelly firmware (test credentials). None is a certified consumer valve beyond Grimsholm.
- Grimsholm stays excluded: still no price, cart or reseller. JINK stays Med: the maker page now has a US$147.47 price and cart (buy path), but there is still no CSA/DCL valve cert. UseeLink AW713 stays excluded (no cert).
- +2 exclusions: SmartSetup Shutoff Valve MS01V (not on the maker store; no CSA/DCL valve) and YoLink valve controllers via the YS1606-UC Local Hub (bridged).
- Pack 0.41 / 104 SKUs unchanged (High 96 / Med 7 / Low 1); exclusions 52→54;
water_valveprimary SKUs 2 (0 High). Matrix unchanged. Site UI stays v0.69. Note: internal water-valve research notes.
v0.69 — Alexa trigger Unknown recheck: dimmable light Unknown→Partial, smoke/CO Unknown→Y (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Scope: the 11
amazon_alexaautomation_trigger= Unknown fields (on_off_light, dimmable_color_light, color_temperature_light, plug_outlet, thermostat, window_covering, fan_air_purifier, robot_vacuum, appliances, air_quality_sensor, smoke_co). Slicealexa-actuator-trigger-unknown(briefed as v0.68; numbered v0.69 because v0.68 was used by the compliance audit). - dimmable_color_light trigger Unknown→Partial (cell stays Med): two independent native-Matter reports — Inovelli community user (2025-04-12, White Series Matter/Thread dimmer on Eero/Echo, a Matter Dimmable Light endpoint) whose switch "activates the routines", and a WiZ Matter bulb offered as a trigger (SmartThings Community 2023-08-23). Inovelli's Echo guide (2024-08-06) is vendor corroboration. Partial: bridged Matter bulbs/lamps are not offered as starters (HAMH #390 2025-01-06, #799 2025-08-27) and Amazon enables specific models (2024-04-11). No Amazon statement → Med.
- smoke_co trigger Unknown→Y (cell stays Med): Matter Alpha Sensereo MSC-1 review (2026-02-03): Alexa has "full automation triggers support from the sensor, including smoke level, CO level, and hardware fault"; SmartThings Community (2026-01-28): Alexa "now does have triggers" for a natively paired Matter/Thread CO sensor. BreatheSafeAir and MESH show state only (neutral). Amazon maps Smoke CO Alarm only to TemperatureSensor + ProactiveNotificationSource → Med.
- Kept Unknown (9): plug_outlet (single native reporter: Tapo P125M works as a starter "when added via Matter", 2024-03-09/04-11; bridged outlets not listed, HAMH #799/#801 — needs a second independent native report), on_off_light and color_temperature_light (no type-specific native report; dimmable results not transferred), thermostat, window_covering, fan_air_purifier, robot_vacuum, appliances, air_quality_sensor (no native starter reports; ALPSTUGA via SmartThings cloud link exposes temperature only — skill path, not counted).
- Matrix High 89 / Med 31 / Low 0 · Unknown 12→10. Pack 0.41 / 104 unchanged. Site UI v0.69. DeepSeek: internal review notes. Note: internal Alexa-trigger research notes.
v0.68 — operating instructions v1.2 compliance audit (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Audit: internal compliance notes (pass/gap per v1.2 item).
- Escaping: matrix, filter and type-page renderers now escape cell notes, hub text, source type/date/URL and tooltips; new
safeUrl()emits only http/https hrefs (else#). SKU cards use it too. No data JSON contained HTML, so pages render the same. - HTTPS only: 1 SKU source URL (whatsmatter.net) moved from http to https (live, 200). All 835 data URLs are now https.
- Validators: the QA script adds v1.2 checks: required fields, allowed values, length limits, no HTML tags in data, https-only URLs, no unescaped data interpolation in app.js, no third-party scripts, no non-HTTPS links in site files, secret patterns.
- Docs: internal lifecycle notes (Content, Monetization, Distribution, Skill/routine, UI, Error handling); internal 90-day plan (1-week iteration, 90-day outlook, expansion rules, risk register). Methodology links both.
- Data values unchanged: matrix High 89 / Med 31 / 12 Unknown; 104 SKUs. QA 0 FAIL. Local only.
v0.67 — Alexa sensor/lock Med recheck: contact sensor Med→High (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Scope: the four
amazon_alexaMed cells with filled values — contact_sensor, motion_occupancy, temp_humidity, door_lock (alexa-sensor-lock-med-high-v067). - Confidence Med→High (values unchanged Y/Y/Y/N): contact_sensor. Official: Amazon's Matter page maps Matter Contact Sensor → Alexa.ContactSensor, and Amazon's developer blog (2018-08-28) says contact-sensor updates activate Alexa Routines. Native hands-on: NotEnoughTech (2024-04-11) paired the Matter-over-Thread Aqara P2 contact sensor straight to an Echo Hub and could link it to Alexa Routines; Pocket-lint's native P2 test (2024-05-12) confirms pairing and voice status.
- No change (stays Y/Y/Y/N Med): motion_occupancy — native hands-on conflict: NotEnoughTech (2024-04-11, P2 motion linkable to Routines) vs Pocket-lint (2024-05-14, P2 motion on Echo Show 8 "won't be able to use that motion to initiate another device"). Newer FP300 evidence is state-only (indigo-matter #276, 2026-08-22) or vendor (Aqara guide 2026-08-12).
- No change (stays Y/Y/Y/N Med): temp_humidity — trigger now has an independent native hands-on (Matter Alpha Aqara W100, 2025-05-01: "sensor readings can be used as triggers") plus Tapo T150 and Aqara FP300 vendor claims, but no Amazon page names third-party temperature/humidity sensors as routine starters (Amazon's routines help names only the Echo's own indoor-temperature sensor).
- No change (stays Y/Y/Y/Partial Med): door_lock — action Partial confirmed natively: Nuki Pro 5th gen over Matter (Nuki Developers forum, 2025-04-07/08) gets LOCK but no UNLOCK in Alexa routines; Alexa.LockController doc: unlock disabled by default. Schlage's undated page (cloud-skill locks) says both can be in routines — noted, not counted. No Amazon-published page for the lock trigger or unlock restriction.
- Methodology: new principle 8 — conflicting independent native tests keep Med; interface-level platform statement + the platform's Matter→interface map counts as the official half.
- Matrix High 89 / Med 31 / Low 0 · Unknown 12. Pack 0.41 / 104 unchanged. Site UI v0.67. DeepSeek Pro: internal review notes. Note: internal Alexa sensor/lock research notes. Local only.
v0.66 — Alexa omission-N recheck: pressure sensor Med→High (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Scope: the six
amazon_alexacells that were N/N/N/N Med on Amazon's category-page omission alone. - Confidence Med→High (N unchanged): pressure_sensor. Espressif maintainer native ESP32-S3 test on Echo Dot (arduino-esp32 #12809, 2026-07-23): the pressure endpoint is not shown and a pressure-only node does not finish commissioning. Matterbridge's Alexa test (README since 2026-01-31) agrees.
- No change (stay N Med, sources refreshed): water_valve and speaker (two independent bridged tests each, HAMH #65 2026-07-13 / HAMH #231 2026-03-03 + Matterbridge, but no native test); energy_meter (MESH Tapo P110M 2025-11-09: Alexa shows On/Off only, no energy; no standalone meter test); pump and water_heater (single bridged Matterbridge test). Amazon has added no Matter categories since Nov 2024.
- Matrix High 88 / Med 32 / Low 0 · Unknown 12. Pack 0.41 / 104 unchanged. Site UI v0.66. Note: internal notes. Local only.
v0.65 — Alexa window_covering confidence Med→High (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Scope: second independent native-Matter blind/shade Alexa Routine action hands-on.
- Confidence Med→High; automation_action stays Partial. Wirecutter SmartWings Matter-over-Thread review (2026-05-08, Megan Wollerton): commissioned via Echo Dot Max; Alexa+ sunrise/sunset Routines worked; Alexa app schedules/automations reliable. Combined with PCMag SmartWings 2025-05-25 (Matter QR→Alexa; motion routine + schedule). Bridged still N (HAMH #312, cover docs, Matterbridge #155). Rejected: Gearbrain GE (Aqara M3; routines not named Alexa); Motionblinds FAQ path-mixed; Eve/Zemismart/SmartWave silent or wrong platform.
- Matrix High 87 / Med 33 / Low 0 · Unknown 12. Pack 0.41 / 104 unchanged. Site UI v0.65. Note: internal notes. Local only.
v0.64 — SmartThings standalone energy meter deepen (no value flip) (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Scope: follow-up to v0.63 on
smartthings×energy_meter(Y / Partial / Partial / N Med). Asked whether a standalone Matter meter (Shelly EM / Pro 3EM / 3EM-63) exposes power/energy as SmartThings Routine conditions. - Result: no flip. Values and confidence unchanged. Dated recheck: Edge Drivers main HEAD still 16c5921 (2026-10-13);
matter-energyfingerprints still EVSE / solar / battery only;matter-switchstill requires OnOff for Electrical Sensor 0x0510 (utils.lua "capabilities will not be exposed");matter-sensorhas no 0x0510/0x0514; partners.smartthings.com/matter Energy Management still Battery Storage / Heat Pump / Solar / Water Heater (no Electric Meter row); HAMH marks ElectricalMeter 0x0514 as ❓ for SmartThings; CSA Shelly 3EM-63 Gen4 primary 0x0510 (would hit the no-OnOff refusal); no community Matter-standalone Routine hands-on found (Edge Wi-Fi / Plug M paths only). - Secondary: Shelly 3EM-63 Gen4 SKU stays Med (CSA live; still no EU/US shop page naming Gen4 — Gen3 listed).
- Matrix High 86 / Med 34 / Low 0 · Unknown 12 (unchanged). Pack 0.41 / 104 unchanged. Site UI v0.64. DeepSeek Pro: internal review notes. Note: internal notes. Local only.
v0.63 — non-Alexa Med/Unknown deepen: 4 value corrections, 3 Unknowns resolved (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Scope: five non-Alexa Med cells. These are the three remaining non-Alexa Unknown triggers (SmartThings energy_meter, Google energy_meter, Google pressure_sensor), Google pump, and the Home Assistant appliances row (checked per appliance). Sources were fetched today. Official: SmartThings Edge driver repo main @16c5921 (2026-10-13); Google Home Help 15684394 (consumer starters); the Script Editor Starter schema (2026-10-13); the SensorState trait; Google Matter supported-devices (2026-10-08) and clusters (2026-10-13); the Home APIs Trait support page (2026-10-06) and supported device types; HA core dev @def8807 (2026-10-16). Independent sources are cited per cell.
- Value correction (stays Med): smartthings energy_meter automation_trigger Unknown → Partial (now Y/Partial/Partial/N). matter-switch maps a Matter Electrical Sensor (0x0510) endpoint onto its OnOff plug/light as powerMeter + energyMeter, and Routines can use those as IF conditions. Hands-on: SmartThings Community 2025-10-18 (Tapo P110M Matter 1.3 power routines), 2025-02-10 (Eve Energy energy triggers; P125M none) and 2024-02-26 (Eve power-meter Routine triggers, screenshots). Why Partial: the driver logs that electrical capabilities are not exposed when there is no OnOff endpoint, and there is no public standalone 0x0510/0x0514 fingerprint, despite Samsung announcing Energy Meters on 2026-10-06.
- Value correction (stays Med): google_home energy_meter automation_trigger Unknown → N (Y/N/N/N). The consumer starters list (Help 15684394) has no energy or power starter. The Script Editor starter schema's only energy-related type is EnergyStorage (battery). Hands-on: r/homeautomation 2023-11-22, where the Script Editor rejected
device.state.Energyas "isn't a known type name". - Value correction (stays Med): google_home pressure_sensor automation_trigger Unknown → N (Y/Y/N/N). The consumer starters list has no pressure starter. The SensorState trait's enumerated Supported Sensors has no pressure name, so the Pressure Measurement→SensorState mapping gives a starter nothing to reference.
- Caveat for both Google cells (not counted): the developer Home APIs Automation API says "any attribute may be used in starters", and Electrical Meter / Pressure Sensor are Home APIs device types, so a third-party Home APIs app could in principle start on power or pressure. No hands-on was found, and the column tracks the Google Home app / Script Editor.
- Value correction (stays Med): home_assistant appliances Partial×4 → Y/Partial/Y/Partial. HA core names Dishwasher, LaundryWasher, LaundryDryer, Oven, Cooktop, Refrigerator, RoomAirConditioner and ExtractorHood in its Matter discovery schemas, and climate handles RoomAirConditioner. Per-appliance evidence: dishwasher hands-on (Smart Home Centre 2025-04-30: Bosch via Smart Kitchen Dock, op-state sensor, mode select, start/pause/resume/stop, used as trigger and action); laundry washer (same, plus Smartifiers 2026-07-26); fridge (Matter Alpha 2025-07-31, HA 2025.8 Temperature Control); room AC (HA #147071 2025-06/09, Midea works but only cool/off modes). Control and action stay Partial because they depend on each device's Matter map, remote start is gated on the appliance, and oven/cooktop are untested on real hardware.
- No change: google_home pump Y/Y/Y/Y Med. The consumer starter/action wording is generic on/off, and Home APIs list Pump 0x0303 with OnOff. There is still no pump-specific statement, and no consumer Matter pump ships (DCL primary 0x0303 = 0), so High is blocked. Sources refreshed.
- DeepSeek Pro review agreed with all 5 verdicts. The operator accepted them after checking the cited pages.
- Matrix High 86 / Med 34 / Low 0 · Unknown 15→12. Pack 0.41 / 104 unchanged. Site UI v0.63. Note: internal notes. Local only.
v0.61 — Apple Med recheck: air quality Med→High, appliances High→Med (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Scope: the apple_home Med cells for leak, smoke_co, fan_air_purifier and air_quality_sensor (High needs an official Apple doc + ≥1 independent dated hands-on), plus the appliance rows rechecked against the iOS 27 Matter map. Sources re-fetched today: Apple 102135 (May 07, 2026, unchanged), Works with Apple Home badge guidelines, About iOS 18 Updates (121161), About iOS 27 Updates (149076, Sep 29, 2026), Home User Guide (Mac) notifications, and HAMH #410 (Apple's iOS 26 map + iOS 27 beta 3 additions).
- Med→High (values unchanged): apple_home air_quality_sensor Y/Y/Y/N. The Apple Developer *Works with Apple Home* list names "sensors (air quality, …)" as a Matter category currently supported by Apple Home. Apple's iOS 26 map has 0x002C → HAP Air Quality Sensor. Hands-on agree: HomeKit News 2026-01-20, AppleInsider 2026-05-14, thesmarthome.blog 2026-07-15.
- High→Med (values unchanged): apple_home appliances Partial/Partial/Partial/Partial (room AC subset). Apple's iOS 27 beta 3 map (2026-07-13) adds Refrigerator, Laundry Washer, Dishwasher, Cooktop, Oven and Laundry Dryer as native types ("not finished yet"). Apple's iOS 27 notes and release reviews mention no appliances, and the HAMH matrix (2026-09-23) shows Apple ❓. The white-goods "no" now rests on omission and pre-release evidence (Matter Alpha 2026-06-08, beta 1), so it is capped at Med.
- No change (stay Med, sources refreshed): leak and smoke_co Y/Y/Y/N. Apple's iOS 26 map has 0x0043 → Leak Sensor and 0x0076 → Smoke/CO Sensor, and there is a new leak hands-on (homekit.reviews 2026-07-18). But no Apple-published doc names Matter leak or smoke/CO: 102135 and the Works with Apple Home sensor list both omit them. fan_air_purifier Y/Y/Unknown/Y: P/C/A now have official support (Works with Apple Home names fans + air purifiers), but the trigger is still Unknown, so High is blocked.
- iOS 27 appliance-adjacent recheck (no change): pump and water_heater (N Med), robot_vacuum (Y/Y/N/Y Med). iOS 27 notes add no Matter device types.
- Matrix High 86 / Med 34 / Low 0 · 15 Unknown (net 0: +1 / −1). Pack 0.41/104 unchanged. Site UI v0.61. DeepSeek Pro review: the DeepSeek review data. Note: the Apple Med recheck notes. Local only.
v0.60 — Apple omission-N recheck: energy meter value correction, 2 High→Med (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Scope: the 6 apple_home N/N/N/N High cells whose only source was the type list on Apple 102135 (Published May 07, 2026, unchanged): pump, water_valve, energy_meter, speaker, water_heater, pressure_sensor. No other apple N/High cell was omission-only; the sensor-row action Ns are by design.
- New cross-cutting sources: Apple Developer *Works with Apple Home* badge guidelines, which list "currently supported" categories (they include fans, purifiers, robot vacuums and AQ, and omit all 6 targets). The CSA SDK Apple device-type table. Apple's iOS 26 Matter→HomeKit protocol map from HomeKitMatter.framework, extracted in HAMH Discussion #410 (2026-07-11/12): it has no pump, water valve, speaker, water heater or pressure, and its iOS 27 beta 3 additions are appliances + Electrical Sensor 0x0510 / Electrical Meter 0x0514. The HAMH controller matrix (2026-09-23) shows Apple ❌ for pressure/speaker/valve/water heater.
- Value correction (High→Med): apple_home energy_meter N/N/N/N → Partial/Partial/N/N. iOS 27 (released 2026-09-14, MacRumors) added a Matter Energy view showing the whole-home total and per-device use (Matter Alpha 2026-06-08; HomeKits.de 2026-06-09 beta hands-on; MacRumors guide 2026-08-06). Meter-only hands-on: in homebridge-shelly-matter #3, a bridged Shelly Pro 3EM registers and on iOS 27 its power counts in the Energy tab, but it is not listed (2026-08-18). In #7, a Shelly EM Gen4 showed 256 W in the Energy section on the iOS 27 beta (2026-08-28) and Energy showed on iOS 27.0.1 (2026-10-04); nothing showed on iOS 26.6. Partial because a meter-only endpoint gets no tile, only directly paired devices are listed per device, and there is no voltage/current/PF UI. Trigger/action N: energy data is not usable in Home/Shortcuts automations. Med because no native standalone meter direct-pair test was found. Requires iOS 27 and a home hub on 27 software.
- N confirmed, stays High (explicit evidence, sources refreshed): water_valve (two Apple Developer Forums reports that Home says the device is "not supported" and the accessory is not created, while the same hardware as a plug works; Espressif staff 2025-11-20: "Apple home haven't supported Matter Valve device type yet"). speaker (HAMH #293 2026-04-11: "Speakers … do not work at the moment"; not in the map). pressure_sensor (Matter Alpha arre review 2024-11-13: "Apple's Home app doesn't support barometric pressure"; Espressif #1096 2024-09-26; HAMH docs 2026-05-30).
- High→Med (N unchanged): pump and water_heater. Only omission-type evidence exists (badge list, CSA table, Apple map, matter.js
-; plus bridge workarounds that expose pumps as fans and water heaters as thermostats), and no explicit 'not supported' report was found. - Methodology: principle 5 now says an official list omission alone supports
Nat Med at most; HighNneeds explicit evidence. - DeepSeek Pro review agreed on all 6 decisions, including energy_meter Partial/Partial/N/N Med.
- Matrix High 89→86 / Med 31→34 / Low 0 · Unknown 15 (unchanged). Pack 0.41 / 104 High 96 / Med 7 / Low 1; excl 52 (unchanged). Site UI v0.60. Note: the Apple omission recheck notes. Local only.
v0.59.1 — mobile tap targets ≥44px (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Mobile audit (375×812) found 2–5 non-inline tap targets under 24px per page: footer links (~17px) and, on home, the How-we-differ methodology link.
- Fix: at
max-width:700px, header nav links, footer links, and filter/chip buttons useinline-flex+min-height:44px(WCAG 2.5.5). Differ-note + CT/dimmable type notices wrapped in<p>so their inline links are not counted as chrome controls. Desktop layout unchanged. - After: 35/35 pass, 0 horizontal overflow, 0 non-inline taps <24px. Screenshot: the mobile audit screenshot. Data unchanged. Local only.
v0.59 — non-Alexa Med deepen 2: Apple fan/purifier + air-quality value corrections, 2 Med→High (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Scope: all 11 non-Alexa Med cells were already rechecked in v0.55/v0.56, so this batch took the open questions those notes left, plus the flagged omission-based Apple N High cell (fan_air_purifier), and looked for new evidence.
- Value correction (High→Med): apple_home fan_air_purifier N/N/N/N → Y/Y/Unknown/Y. Apple 102135 (May 07, 2026) still omits fans and purifiers, but iOS 18 hands-on tests show native Matter purifiers and fans work. Matter Alpha (2024-09-21): WELOV P200 Pro re-added as an air purifier, with controls, Siri and automation/alerts. 9to5Mac (2024-09-20): iOS 18 Matter 1.2, Siri plus scene/automation settings. HomeKits.de (2026-07-29): SwitchBot Circulator Fan 2 Pro speed 1–100% and oscillation; SwitchBot maker page lists Apple Home. Hub-bridged fans can be on/off only (HomeKit News 2026-06-08). The trigger is Unknown, not Y, because only Apple's generic 102313 covers it (robot-vacuum precedent).
- Value correction (stays Med): apple_home air_quality_sensor N/N/N/N → Y/Y/Y/N. Native Matter IKEA ALPSTUGA in Apple Home: HomeKit News video (2026-01-20: AQ, PM2.5, CO2, humidity on one page), AppleInsider (2026-05-14: "All the different Alpstuga metrics in the Home app") and thesmarthome.blog (2026-07-15: used in automations). Matter Alpha (2024-09-21): P200 Pro AQ data usable in automations/alerts. Caveats: the trigger is the overall AQ level (CO2/PM2.5 reportedly not separate triggers), and the ALPSTUGA temperature reading is not shown.
- Med→High (values unchanged): apple_home switch_button (Matter Generic Switch single/double/long press as triggers, from 2 independent hands-on tests: HomeKit News 2026-01-20 BILRESA and AppleInsider 2026-05-14 "six programmable buttons", plus Inovelli Matter multi-tap help 2023-12-14). google_home speaker (Google clusters page 2026-10-13 maps Level Control and On/Off to "Volume for Speaker device types"; VolumeState starter and SetVolume action exist).
- Kept Med / unchanged: google pump (only a generic On/Off mapping; DeepSeek agreed). Quick checks found no new evidence, so these stay as they were: google energy/pressure triggers Unknown, ST energy_meter, HA appliances.
- DeepSeek Pro review: agreed on A/C/D/E. Its B action Y was overridden (sensor → N), and C was kept High over its Med because 2 independent hands-on tests plus Apple's own "switches" listing exist.
- Matrix High 88→89 / Med 32→31 / Low 0 · Unknown 14→15. Pack 0.41 / 104 High 96 / Med 7 / Low 1; excl 52 (unchanged). Site UI v0.59. Note: internal notes. Local only.
v0.58 — native Matter cover Alexa action Partial (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Value correction (stays Med): amazon_alexa window_covering automation_action N → Partial (Matter path). Native Matter over Thread hands-on: PCMag SmartWings review (2025-05-25) scanned the Matter QR in Alexa and ran an Alexa routine (Aqara G5 Pro motion → lower shade) plus a noon schedule — both worked. Bridged Matter path still N (HAMH #312 + cover docs; Matterbridge #155). Amazon categories map Window Covering→RangeController with no Routines statement. Partial = native commission appears routine-selectable; bridged endpoints are not. Med: only one fetchable independent native Alexa-routine test; Reddit Matter+routines threads blocked; Eve/GE/MESH/Trusted Reviews silent or wrong platform for Alexa routines. Maker marketing (Motionblinds FAQ; SmartWings Alexa Zigbee steps) stays path-mixed and unused. pairs/control Y and trigger Unknown unchanged.
- Matrix High 88 / Med 32 / Low 0 · 14 Unknown (counts unchanged). Pack 0.41 / 104 unchanged. Site UI v0.58. Note: internal notes. Local only.
v0.57.1 — mobile-friendliness audit (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Rendered all 35 pages headless at 375×812 (mobile). Before: 32/35 pass; changelog, types/appliances and types/air_quality_sensor overflowed horizontally (long unbroken tokens in source notes / code paths, up to 949px).
- Fix: CSS
overflow-wrap:anywhereon notes/paragraphs/list items/code,prescrolls in place. After: 35/35 pass, no page-level horizontal scroll; matrix scrolls inside its wrapper. All pages have viewport meta, 16px base font. - Data unchanged. Script + screenshots: internal notes. Local only.
v0.57 — Alexa window covering action correction + leak recheck (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Value correction (stays Med): amazon_alexa window_covering automation_action Y → N (Matter path). The old Y was inferred. There are three dated reports from two independent Matter bridge projects: HA Matter Hub #312 (2026-04-21..09-11; Velux + Fibaro covers; the maintainer's log review on 2026-08-17 found skill covers listed in the routine category and Matter covers not), HAMH cover docs (2026-08-17), and Matterbridge-zigbee2mqtt #155 (2026-02-14; Sonoff roller). All say Matter covers are controllable but not selectable as Alexa Routine actions. Amazon's Matter-support doc treats native and bridged devices alike. Med because no native-Matter blind has been hands-on tested; maker routine claims (Motionblinds FAQ 2026-09-15, SmartWings) are not tied to the Matter path. Skill/cloud covers (Shelly Cloud, Somfy) are unaffected. pairs/control Y and trigger Unknown are unchanged.
- Leak recheck (no change): amazon_alexa leak stays Partial/N/N/N High. Amazon's Matter table still shows Water leak detector → "—", and a third-party guide (2026-10-14) marks it "app only". HAMH ❌ + #365; ThirdReality/HAMH re-type leak as a contact sensor as a workaround. Sources and notes refreshed.
- Matrix High 88 / Med 32 / Low 0 · 14 Unknown (counts unchanged). SKUs pack 0.41 / 104 High 96 / Med 7 / Low 1; excl 52 (unchanged). Site UI v0.57. Note: internal notes. Local only.
2026-10-16 SGT — Alexa Unknown-trigger recheck (no site bump)
- Scope: the 11
amazon_alexaautomation_trigger Unknowns: on_off_light, dimmable_color_light, color_temperature_light, plug_outlet, smoke_co, thermostat, window_covering, fan_air_purifier, robot_vacuum, appliances, air_quality_sensor. The 3 non-Alexa Unknowns were skipped (already rechecked today). - Official: Amazon "Supported Matter Device Categories" (live via WebFetch, Matter 1.5) still maps clusters to control interfaces only. The PowerController page has no routine text. Amazon consumer routine pages (amazon.com / amazon.in) are generic, and temperature routines there use Echo built-in sensors. No official Matter Routines-starter statement exists for any of the 11 types.
- Independent: the evidence conflicts for lights and plugs. For: SmartThings Community WiZ Matter bulb trigger (2023-08-23); JDRoberts "some Matter plugs and switches" (2024-05-03); HA Community input_boolean via HA Matter Hub (2025-09-28). Against: HA Matter Hub #390 says a bulb/switch is not allowed (2025-01-06). Third-party guides (2026-10-14) mark all 11 as control only / not stated.
- Result: 0 flips. All 11 stay Unknown / Med. DeepSeek Pro proposed plug_outlet→Y; the operator overrode it because of the same-bridge material contradiction. Notes and sources refreshed on 11 cells.
- Flag (not changed): the Alexa window_covering automation_action Y may be wrong for the Matter path. HA Matter Hub #312 + cover docs say Alexa's routine builder does not list bridged Matter covers. Needs native-Matter blind evidence.
- Matrix High 88 / Med 32 / Low 0 · 14 Unknown (unchanged). Pack 0.41 / 104; excl 52. Site UI stays v0.56. Note: internal notes. Local only.
v0.56 — non-Alexa Med-cell deepen: Apple leak/smoke value corrections + 4 Med→High (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Value corrections (stay Med): apple_home leak N/N/N/N → Y/Y/Y/N and apple_home smoke_co N/N/N/N → Y/Y/Y/N. Apple Support 102135 (May 07, 2026) still omits both, but native-Matter makers document Apple Home (IKEA KLIPPBOK, Third Reality KM1, Shelly Flood Gen4; Sensereo MS-1 + Sensereo Apple Home pairing guide, Heiman S1-M) and hands-on reviews show status, notifications and a "detected" automation trigger (HomeKit News KLIPPBOK 2026-01-31; MESH Sensereo MS-1 2025-06-26; HomeKit News MSC-1 2026-05-21). Med because Apple's own list still omits them.
- Med→High (values unchanged): apple_home color_temperature_light (Apple 102135 lights + Apple iPhone guide color-temperature controls + TP-Link L730 Matter FAQ; Siri CT bug caveat); home_assistant leak (core WaterLeakDetector → moisture); home_assistant color_temperature_light (core ColorTemperatureLight / COLOR_TEMP); smartthings thermostat (partners Matter list now names Thermostat + Edge matter-thermostat fingerprints).
- Kept Med (source/notes refreshed): apple switch_button, apple robot_vacuum (+Apple 121161 iOS 18.4 official line; trigger N still community-only), apple air_quality_sensor (vendor/Reddit hints, no fetched test — not flipped), HA appliances (broad cluster entities, Partial kept), google pump + speaker (trait-level automation docs only).
- Alexa Med (no-Unknown) recheck: Amazon categories page read via WebFetch (box curl TLS reset); categories unchanged → 0 changes. Omission-based N not upgraded (Apple leak/smoke show omission ≠ unsupported).
- Matrix High 84→88 / Med 36→32 / Low 0 · 14 Unknown (unchanged). SKUs pack 0.41 / 104 High 96 / Med 7 / Low 1; excl 52 (unchanged). Site UI v0.56. Note: the Med-cell deepen research notes. Local only.
2026-10-16 SGT — pressure primary + non-Alexa Unknown recheck (no site bump)

DarkMatterDB light-sensor empty. No occupancy re-primary. - Track B: 7 confidence Med→High (values unchanged): google_home air_quality_sensor + light_sensor; amazon_alexa light_sensor; home_assistant light_sensor + air_quality_sensor + pressure_sensor + energy_meter. Sources: platform official docs + HA sensor discovery / Tapo T150 Matter table where noted. Apple AQ, Alexa AQ trigger Unknown, Alexa energy/pressure, Google energy/pressure Unknown triggers, ST energy_meter kept Med/Unknown.
- Matrix High 77→84 / Med 43→36 / 14 Unknown. SKUs pack 0.41 / 104 High 96 / Med 7 / Low 1; excl 52. Site UI v0.55. Note: the light/matrix research notes. Local only.
2026-10-16 SGT — water-valve thicken recheck (no site bump)
- Goal: ≥1 High primary
water_valve(0x0042). Full DCL scan 5,433 models → still exactly 1 primary Water Valve (Grimsholm). Matter Survey / DarkMatterDB still name only Grimsholm. - Grimsholm CSA261G3MAT51283-24 primary 0x0042 confirmed; maker page live but no consumer buy path (empty reseller locator) → exclusion reason refreshed, not added as High.
- +1 exclusion: UseeLink AW713 (Amazon Matter claim, no CSA). JINK stays Med / Tevinge Low.
- Opportunistic light_sensor / pressure_sensor: 0 new primary High.
- Pack 0.41 / 104 High 96 / Med 7 / Low 1; excl 51→52. Site UI stays v0.54. Note: the water-valve research notes. Local only.
v0.54 — Med/Low deepen + flagged-link resolution (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Med/Low recheck (0 upgrades): 5 Apple Home Collection pre-ship SKUs stay Med (LG deadbolt Aliro-only CSA26020ALR80032-UW; LG/Schneider thermostats + LG temp sensor — no Matter cert; Schneider room sensor has candidate DCL CSA263OQMAT54186-24 / VID 0x105E PID 0x44EF but part number "-" and no SAH232111 naming — not upgraded). v0.32 — Low SKUs + Unknown trigger note refresh (2026-10-16 SGT)
- TASK A Low SKUs:
- Excluded eve-water-guard — Eve official page (2026-10-16): HomeKit-enabled; Bluetooth + Thread only; hub FAQ “Ready for Matter: With a future software update”. No CSA Matter product (Energy/Thermo/Weather are certified). A third-party guide 2026-10-10: not on Eve Matter upgrade list; no timeline. Same bar as Eve Aqua / Eve Room. Exclusions 14 → 15.
- Kept Low tevinge-smart-valve-controller — Amazon MS15 claim “Matter over Thread Certified”; CSA search Tevinge/MS15 empty; no maker Matter page; Matter Alpha community only; reviewer Alexa=no. Notes refreshed. Not promoted.
- TASK B Unknown automation_triggers: Re-fetched live Amazon Matter categories (WebFetch OK; curl TLS still flaky). Still control-cluster mappings only — no Routines-trigger column. Google starters still EnergyStorage + generic SensorState only; Apple 102135 (May 07, 2026) still omits RVC. 0 value changes; 14 Unknown fields refreshed with dated “docs silent” notes. Rejected weak N/Y (2022 Alexa support quote; inventing N from missing Google starters; treating PNS/Custom Triggers as Routines starters).
- SKU pack 0.22 / 48 (High 41 / Med 6 / Low 1). Matrix High 78 / Med 42 / Low 0; 14 Unknown unchanged. Site UI v0.32. DeepSeek flash advisory (reasoning only; JSON incomplete) — decisions from primary fetches. Local git only.

Amazon developer.amazon.com TLS-blocked; used Wayback May 2026 snapshot of supported-matter-device-categories.
- DeepSeek draft cross-checked; rejected inventing N for Google pressure/energy triggers, Apple RVC trigger, and Alexa light_sensor control (Tapo display=Y overrides Amazon capability "—").
- Cell value changes (9 fields):
- amazon_alexa/light_sensor: control Unknown→Y, automation_trigger Unknown→N (Tapo T150 Matter: display Y / above-below N; Amazon Light sensor capability "—")
- google_home/light_sensor: automation_trigger Unknown→N (Tapo T150 Google Matter above-below N; no illuminance starter)
- smartthings/window_covering: automation_trigger Unknown→Y, automation_action Partial→Y, conf Med→High (ST partners list Window Covering + Edge driver)

v0.28 — Cync Matter CT tag (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Re-fetched GE/Cync Matter docs + reputable sources for Direct Connect bulbs CT over Matter.
- Finding: Matter Color Control ColorTemperature is present — Matter Survey telemetry (Full Color A19 PID 0x00AB + Glass Spiral PID 0x00B6, fw 1.03.190), Matter Alpha PICS, CSA Extended Color Light (0x010D), GE datasheet 2000–7000K on Full Color/Tunable White, GE Matter page markets white tones.
- Tagged
cync-direct-connect-bulbwithalso_device_types: color_temperature_light(5 CT-tagged SKUs total). Soft White fixed-2700K caveat in note. - Retained caveat: PCWorld/TechHive 2025-06-26 Clear Full Color hands-on — Matter pairing may hide CT in controller UI (prefer Cync app for reliable CT).
- SKU pack still 0.19 (47 SKUs); site UI v0.28. Local git only. DeepSeek not used.
v0.27.3 — legal drafts refresh (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Privacy / terms / affiliate drafts: product description updated to 24 types × 5 platforms (120 cells, P/C/T/A, confidence + sources, stale/Δ), 47 SKUs, "Will this do X?" filter (DeepSeek draft, facts from internal notes).
- Privacy: explicit "no analytics, no email form, no cookies enabled" current-state note. Affiliate: no programs joined, no affiliate IDs, plain links only; "Not legal advice" added to banner. All remain DRAFT for owner review; no new policies. Local git only.
v0.27.2 — QA fixes (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Full static QA: data/site JSON in sync, 24 types / 120 cells / 47 SKUs, all type pages + labels + sitemap + links pass.
- Changelog: removed duplicated v0.23 entry; static snapshot heading for filter source URLs corrected v0.24 → v0.23.1.
SITE_VERSION/ footers → 0.27.2. No data change. Local git only.
v0.27.1 — home lead / differ UX copy (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Aligned the home page lead + How we differ with methodology/internal notes: 24×5 (incl. HA), P/C/T/A, stale (>60d) + Δ recent-changes strip, filter (source URLs in differ), honest 52×4 note (no uniqueness claim).
- Meta description trimmed to living-matrix wording. No matrix/SKU data change.
SITE_VERSION/ footers → 0.27.1. Local git only.
v0.27 — methodology refresh (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Rewrote the methodology page to match live inventory: 24 types × 5 platforms = 120 cells (High 75 / Med 44 / Low 1; 22 Unknown fields), 47 SKUs pack 0.19 (High 38 / Med 7 / Low 2), 13 exclusions, 35 pages.
- Documented P/C/T/A chips, stale (>60d) UX, Δ /
change_daterecent-changes strip (30d),also_device_types, Unknown honesty, ≥2 official-list bar for new types, Monday ~09:00 SGT weekly verify. - Refreshed #how-we-differ honestly vs a 52×4 comparison (no “only automation table” claim): HA 5th column, separate trigger/action, living stale+Δ+filter with source URLs.
- Synced the SKU data from the research pack (v0.25 Med→High for Shelly EM Gen4 / EM Mini Gen4 / arre had landed in research only). DeepSeek Pro used for draft sections; numbers verified against matrix/SKU data. Local git only.
v0.26 — CT light tags (2026-10-16 SGT)
- 4 SKUs tagged also_device_types
color_temperature_light(brand-documented tunable white): Nanoleaf Essentials A19, Nanoleaf Essentials Lightstrip, Tapo L535E, Linkind Matter bulbs (family; confirm SKU). - Not tagged: GE Cync Direct Connect (Matter pairing reportedly hides CT — PCWorld/TechHive), Inovelli switches (no CT).
- SKU pack 0.19; 47 SKUs unchanged.
v0.25.1 — polish (2026-10-16 SGT)
SITE_VERSIONin the site script synced 0.24 → 0.25.1 (SKUs version line now matches footer).- Wired trimmed SEO metas from the SEO page notes into 8 type pages that still had old/long descriptions (air quality, light sensor, water valve, energy meter, speaker, water heater, pressure, color temp light); all 141–152 chars. Still noindex. No data change. Local git only.
v0.25 — SKU confidence recheck (2026-10-16 SGT)
- 3 Med→High via CSA Matter cert IDs: Shelly EM Gen4 (CSA250DAMAT45100-24), Shelly EM Mini Gen4 (CSA2560AMAT46428-24), arre Temperature Sensor (CSA23C42MAT41752-24).
- 9 others kept with recheck notes (LG deadbolt Aliro-only cert; LG temp sensor model mismatch; no CSA for LG/Schneider thermostats, Schneider room sensor, JINK valve, Bosch US fridge; Eve Water Guard Matter not shipped; Tevinge Amazon claim only).
- SKUs High 38 / Med 7 / Low 2. Local git only.
v0.24 — change-tracking visibility (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Home matrix: cells with a recorded
change_dateget a blue Δ badge (blue outline if within 30 days); hover shows the date and what changed (fromchanged_from). - New Recent cell changes strip under the matrix (last 30 days). Clear empty state when none: "expansions add types; value flips will appear here".
- Data audit: 13 of 120 cells already carry real
change_date(all 2026-10-16) from earlier re-checks — 6 value flips (e.g. Leak·HA Unknown→Y, SmartThings thermostat/blinds Partial→Y, Apple robot vacuum Unknown→Y) and 7 confidence Med→High (v0.19.1 deepen). No backfill, no matrix value change. Local git only.
v0.23.1 — polish: filter source URLs (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Filter results now show each source as a clickable URL (then type · date), matching type-page rendering. Previously only linked the type label (“official”), so URLs were invisible in results.
SITE_VERSION→ 0.23.1; footers on all HTML pages. No matrix/SKU data change. Local git only.
v0.23 — matrix 0.7: +color_temperature_light (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Re-read 5 official light listings. Google table lists On/Off, Dimmable, Color Temperature Light, Extended Color Light as separate rows; SmartThings Lights lists Dimming, Enhanced Color, On/Off, Temperature Color Light. Apple / Alexa / HA document only generic "lights". → ≥2 explicit official lists → approach A: added
color_temperature_light(24 types, 120 cells; +5: High 2 / Med 3; 1 new Unknown = Alexa trigger). - Kept
dimmable_color_light(Dimmable + Extended Color) andon_off_lightunchanged — no SKU re-tagging. Not split dimmable vs color further this pass (would touch existing cells/SKUs). - Alexa categories page refetch timed out today; Alexa cell relies on earlier same-day read (Med). Notes drafted with DeepSeek from fetched text, verified/edited. Totals High 75 / Med 44 / Low 1; 22 Unknown fields. Local git only.
v0.22 — first pressure_sensor SKU (2026-10-16 SGT)
- +arre Temperature Sensor (Thread, Matter 1.0, CSA23C42MAT41752-24): primary
temp_humidity,also_device_types: [pressure_sensor]— standard Pressure Measurement cluster confirmed on Matter Survey telemetry; maker page says Matter Certified. Confidence Med. - Eve Weather excluded for pressure: pressure only via Eve proprietary cluster, certified clusters temp + humidity.
- SKUs 47 (pack 0.18), exclusions 13. Fixed duplicate v0.21 changelog entry. Local git only.
v0.21 — matrix 0.6: +pressure_sensor (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Re-fetched all 5 official lists 2026-10-16 (Apple 102135, Google Matter supported-devices, Alexa supported Matter categories, SmartThings partners/matter, HA Matter integration). The Alexa Matter support page timed out and a direct fetch failed on TLS; the supported Matter device categories page read fine and is the categories source.
- Pressure Sensor passes ≥2 official lists (Google "Pressure Sensor | Pressure Measurement | 1.0"; SmartThings Sensors "Pressure Sensor") → added
pressure_sensor: 23 types, 115 cells (+5: High 2 / Med 3; 1 new Unknown = Google trigger). - Rain Sensor fails (SmartThings only) → not added. No other type newly on ≥2 lists (Chime/Doorbell/Flow = Google only; Water Freeze Detector = ST only).
- Type page, JS labels, home lead 23 types, sitemap, footers v0.21, the SKU data
type_matrix_ref0.6. Cell notes drafted with DeepSeek from fetched text, verified/edited against URLs. Totals High 73 / Med 41 / Low 1; 21 Unknown fields. Local git only.
v0.20.1 — polish (2026-10-16 SGT)
- SKUs page version line: show SKU pack / type matrix / site separately (no more “data 0.17” read as an old site next to footer v0.20).
matrix.js: skip probing the matrix data file when the page is under the types directory (removes console 404).- Tiny
favicon.svglinked from all 33 HTML pages. type_matrix_refin the SKU data cleaned to0.5.1-preview(metadata only). No matrix/SKU cell invent. Local git only.
v0.20 — SKUs for new matrix types (2026-10-16 SGT)
- +5 new SKUs (41 → 46): JINK Smart Water Valve (Med), Tevinge Smart Valve Controller (Low), Shelly Pro 3EM (High, CSA2602YMAT49514-24), Shelly EM Gen4 (Med), Shelly EM Mini Gen4 (Med).
- 2 existing SKUs tagged with a second type (new
also_device_typesfield): IKEA ALPSTUGA → air_quality_sensor; Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 → light_sensor (Alexa illuminance not available at launch per Aqara). - Excluded (no invention): Eve Room / Eve Aqua (Matter not shipped), Aqara Valve T1 & SwitchBot Meter Pro CO2 (bridged only). pump / speaker / water_heater: no credible consumer Matter SKU found — skipped.
- UI: SKU type filter + cards honour
also_device_types. SKU totals High 35 / Med 9 / Low 2, 12 exclusions. Changelog page now ships a static fallback of recent entries. Footers v0.20. Local git only.
v0.19.1 — matrix 0.5.1 data deepen (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Re-fetched Apple 102135, Google supported-devices, Alexa categories, HA Matter. 7 Med → High (all N cells with explicit exclusion quotes): Apple pump / water_valve / energy_meter / speaker / water_heater ("currently supports these types…"); Google water_valve / water_heater ("Device types other than the ones listed here are not officially supported").
- Kept Med: Alexa N cells ("many device types from… categories" not exhaustive), Apple air_quality_sensor, Google/Alexa/HA sensor triggers. SmartThings energy_meter stays Low (no standalone meter listed). No Unknowns resolved.
- Matrix totals: High 71 / Med 38 / Low 1 (was 64/45/1). Data only; no UI change. Also removed duplicated v0.19 changelog entry.
v0.19 — matrix 0.5: +7 sourced device types (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Matrix 0.4 → 0.5-preview: 15 → 22 types, 75 → 110 cells. New:
air_quality_sensor,light_sensor,pump,water_valve,energy_meter,speaker,water_heater. - Sources fetched live 2026-10-16: Apple 102135, Google Matter supported-devices + automation starters, Alexa supported Matter categories, SmartThings partners Matter list, HA Matter integration (categories incl. Pump / Valve / Water heater / Sensor).
- New cells: High 10 / Med 24 / Low 1; 9 Unknown fields. Types not on a platform's official list marked N (Med), not invented Y.
- 7 new type pages, labels in
matrix.js/app.js, home lead 22 types, sitemap 33 pages, footers v0.19. Local git only.
v0.18 — differentiation UX (2026-10-16 SGT)
- Context: a living docs Matter automation-reach guide shipped recently (52 capabilities × 4 platforms; updated 2026-10-14). We do not claim uniqueness on “having a Matter automation table.”
- Home: clearer lead — 15 types × 5 platforms (incl. Home Assistant); each cell tracks pairs · control · automation trigger · automation action separately. Added honest How we differ note linking to methodology.
- Matrix cells: render P / C / T / A mini-chips; T (trigger) and A (action) visually distinct (violet vs teal). Legend + matrix-note updated. No data invention — values unchanged from matrix v0.4.
- Methodology: revised “How we differ” section (
#how-we-differ) — type rows, 4 fields/cell, HA column, stale flags / changelog / filter. - Footers → v0.18 on all 26 HTML pages. Local git only — no remote, domain, accounts, deploy, posts, or spend.
v0.17 — Alexa hubs/Thread model refresh (2026-10-16 SGT)

- Echo/eero now documented as running the Matter 1.5 SDK (subset of 1.5 and lower types) over Wi-Fi and Thread.
- Refreshed Matter-enabled and Thread border-router model lists: added Echo Dot Max (2025), Echo Show 11 (2025), Echo Show 21, and the eero 7 line (eero 7 / Max 7 / Outdoor 7 / Pro 7). Thread 1.1 vs 1.3 split kept from Amazon (Echo 4th Gen = 1.1; newer Echo/eero TBRs = 1.3).
