Feller Funktaster Connected: battery Matter push-button over Thread and Bluetooth (CSA263Y5MAT54525-24); needs a Thread border router.

The Feller Funktaster Connected is a battery-powered Matter RF push-button module. It connects over Thread with Bluetooth also listed in its CSA record, and it must be paired into a Matter controller with Thread border-router support. Feller's setup steps say to scan the Matter QR code in a Matter-compatible smart-home app; the company names Apple HomeKit and Google Home as examples. MatterCheck's type-level matrix for the switch/button device type lists Yes for pairing on Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant and Homey, and Partial for Hubitat.

Feller Funktaster Connected CSA certificate and Thread transport

The CSA product page for the Funktaster Connected, dated 2026-09-12, certifies it as an end product with Certificate ID CSA263Y5MAT54525-24 and certified date 2026-07-06. CSA lists the company as Schneider Electric Industries SAS, with Feller as the brand. The CSA DCL model record uses vendor ID 5481 and product ID 18919.

  • Certificate ID: CSA263Y5MAT54525-24

  • Primary device type: switch/button
  • Transport interfaces: Thread, Bluetooth
  • Product type: End product

CSA says the RF push-button module is intended to control light, shutter and other devices, and it may be flush or surface mounted. Feller's Matter page confirms that the Funktaster uses the Thread radio protocol and therefore needs a Thread-compatible border router. Feller names Apple HomePod mini and other Matter controllers with Thread border-router capability as suitable examples. This is not a Wi-Fi device. For the transport difference, see MatterCheck's Thread vs Wi-Fi guide; for the border-router requirement, see MatterCheck's Thread border router guide.

What this means for this product

As a pure button, control is Partial on every platform because the Funktaster is an event source, not a load switch. Amazon Alexa maps generic switches to Alexa.SimpleEventSource, which is trigger-oriented rather than a controllable load. Home Assistant exposes each Matter button as an event entity, and Homey's switch/button rule says buttons appear as devices but cannot be operated—they start Flows instead. Google Home can commission an On/Off Light Switch but does not expose the Binding cluster, so users cannot configure it to control other devices in Google Home; generic button types differ. SmartThings buttons typically fire events for routines rather than being load-controlled. Hubitat's official compatible-device list names the IKEA BILRESA Matter Dual Button and the Aqara Dimmer Switch H2 EU driver, but no generic Matter button driver is listed. For more on how buttons behave across platforms, see MatterCheck's smart button guide.

Feller Funktaster Connected cross-platform support from the matrix

Across MatterCheck's switch/button matrix, pairing is Yes on Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant and Homey, while Hubitat is Partial. Control is Partial on all seven platforms, starts automations is Yes on all seven, and controlled by automations is No on all seven. Feller's Matter page describes cross-brand control through one app, naming Apple HomeKit and Google Home as examples.

Feller Funktaster Connected setup, pairing, reset, and battery

Feller says commissioning requires a Matter controller and a Thread border router. To connect, scan the Matter QR code with a Matter-compatible smart-home app; after pairing, functions and scenes can be configured individually. If the QR code does not work, Feller says to put the device in pairing mode by pressing any button until the red LED on the left side blinks, then scan the QR code again. The MatterCheck Matter device not pairing guide covers general pairing troubleshooting.

  • Placement: Feller says the wireless Funktaster can be mounted almost anywhere—on walls, glass surfaces, next to the bed, or in entrance areas—without extra wiring, which makes it suited to renovations, retrofits and rented properties.
  • Controls: Depending on the version, it can control lighting, blinds, scenes or other smart-home functions, with integration via the supported wireless technology.
  • Wiring: No control wiring is needed; Feller says installation is quick and simple.
  • Battery: Feller says the Funktaster uses a CR2430 battery and lasts up to four years depending on use and operating conditions.
  • Reset: Remove the rocker buttons, then hold two diagonally opposite buttons (1 and 4 or 2 and 3) for more than 10 seconds until the status LED blinks quickly. Release, then press the same buttons again within 10 seconds briefly; the Funktaster resets and restarts.
  • System requirement: Feller says the Funktaster must be integrated into a Matter-capable smart-home system to control compatible devices and scenes.

Feller Funktaster Connected verdict

Works on: Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant, Homey (pairing Yes); Hubitat (pairing Partial).

  • Buy if you want a battery-powered, wire-free Matter button that can be mounted on walls, glass, beside a bed or in entrances, and you already have a Thread border router plus a Matter controller. The CSA certificate and Feller's setup details confirm Thread/Bluetooth transport and QR pairing.
  • Skip if you do not have a Thread border router or a Matter-capable smart-home system, or if you need full control/automation-action support on every platform: MatterCheck's switch/button matrix lists control as Partial and controlled-by-automations as No on all seven platforms.
