MIWA PiACK HOME PG · Part DTPGM · Matter door lock

The MIWA PiACK HOME PG lock (CSA product label MIWA Piack Home, part DTPGM) is a Japanese-market Matter smart lock that uses Matter-over-Thread and connects to Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home apps through a Thread border router smart speaker or display. MIWA's December 3, 2024 support list names the Amazon Echo, Echo Hub, Apple HomePod, HomePod mini, Google Nest Hub, and Nest Hub Max as Thread-capable devices it verified. MatterCheck's type-level door lock matrix also gives Yes for pairing with SmartThings, Home Assistant, Homey, and Hubitat, but no MIWA-specific test result is supplied for those platforms.

MIWA PiACK HOME PG Matter-over-Thread and CSA certification

The CSA DCL model record lists the certified model with product name DTPGM and product label MIWA PiACK Home. The CSA product page for DTPGM gives firmware version 1.10, hardware version 1.0, certificate ID CSA261ZNMAT51987-24, certified date 04/10/2026, specification version 1.4, transport interface Thread plus Bluetooth, and primary device type: door lock. The same CSA page also lists a second DTPGM Matter certificate, CSA24732MAT44517-24.

The CSA product entry describes a smart lock that supports Matter-over-Thread and allows lock and unlock operations via a numeric keypad and NFC card. It also describes a dual-lock system specific for Japan and Bluetooth connection to a smartphone for configuration settings. The lock is a Thread device, not a border router; it needs a Thread border router and Matter controller on the network. MatterCheck explains border router requirements in its Thread border router and Matter hub guide.

Per-platform Matter door lock matrix for MIWA PiACK HOME PG

These are MatterCheck's type-level matrix answers for Matter door locks, not a per-unit lab test. MatterCheck has no lab and tested nothing. Product-specific coverage in the supplied sources is mainly for Amazon, Apple, and Google hubs.

Product-specific difference: MIWA's manual names Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home apps for Matter connection, and MIWA's 2024-12-03 verified-device table covers Amazon Echo, Echo Hub, Apple HomePod, HomePod mini, Google Nest Hub, and Nest Hub Max. The sources do not report MIWA-specific pairing or control results for SmartThings, Home Assistant, Homey, or Hubitat; those rows remain MatterCheck's type-level door lock answers.

Across the seven platforms, the door lock matrix gives Yes for pairing everywhere. Google Home is Partial for control and Partial for being controlled by automations; Amazon Alexa is Partial for controlled-by-automations and Yes elsewhere. Apple Home, SmartThings, Home Assistant, Homey, and Hubitat are Yes in all four columns. The only product-specific Matter connectivity evidence in the sources is MIWA's Japanese manual and support list for Amazon, Apple, and Google speakers or displays.

MIWA PiACK HOME PG pairing steps from MIWA's manual

MIWA's setup uses the MIWA Support app plus the third-party smart home app. The manual says to set up the smart speaker or smart display in the smart home app before starting MIWA Support setup, and to keep the smart lock, smartphone, and speaker or display close together.

  1. Create a MIWA Support ID, install the MIWA Support app, and register the product.
  2. Select the target product from the registered device list.
  3. Tap 連携/連携解除 (Link/Unlink).
  4. Tap 二次元コードで連携する (Link using QR code). To use a pairing code instead, choose that option and copy the code when shown.
  5. Remove the base setting cover and press the button, then long-press the setting button and tap [接続する] ([Connect]).
  6. If the LED shows “C”, MIWA says to wait until the LED display disappears, or remove and reinsert the batteries, then press the setting button again.
  7. Prepare the smart home app and tap Matter連携を開始する (Start Matter pairing). MIWA says this puts the lock into pairing standby for 3 minutes.
  8. Open the smart home app and scan the lock's QR code, or use the copied pairing code.
  9. Close the MIWA Support app.

MIWA's manual lists these border router software versions for setup: Amazon Echo 4th generation software version 10705247108, Amazon Echo Hub software version 2001010008020, Apple HomePod software version 17.6, and Apple HomePod mini software version 17.6. If a problem occurs during pairing, general Matter troubleshooting is covered in MatterCheck's Matter device not pairing guide.

MIWA PiACK HOME PG specs, launch, and known limits

  • The CSA product page lists firmware version 1.10, hardware version 1.0, Matter Specification Version 1.4, and Thread plus Bluetooth transport.
  • CSA describes lock and unlock operation from a numeric keypad and NFC card, a dual-lock system specific for Japan, and Bluetooth smartphone connection for configuration settings.
  • MIWA's news release says the Matter-compatible PiACK HOME PG went on sale December 26, 2024.
  • MIWA's manual says only the PiACK HOME PG can connect to Matter devices; other MIWA models cannot, so this does not apply to other PiACK models.
  • The lock requires a separate Thread border router-capable smart speaker or smart display. MIWA's manual says if the smart speaker or smart display stops or disconnects, operation from Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and the Apple Home app becomes impossible.
  • Smartphone Wi-Fi and Bluetooth must be on before setup, and the manual says to delete the smart lock from the smart home app when moving out or when the lock will no longer be used.
  • MIWA's support page says operation was checked on December 3, 2024, but it does not guarantee operation in every customer environment, on all firmware or hardware versions, or after customer settings are changed. MIWA says third-party product questions should go to each maker, not MIWA.

MIWA PiACK HOME PG verdict

  • Buy if you need a Japan-specific Matter door lock with a numeric keypad and NFC card, and you will provide one of the Thread border router speakers or displays on MIWA's verified list.
  • Buy if you want a Matter 1.4-certified lock with Thread and Bluetooth that MIWA documents for Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home apps.
  • Skip if you cannot accept the lock's app control stopping when the Thread border router speaker or display goes offline.
  • Skip if you need MIWA-documented product-specific compatibility with SmartThings, Home Assistant, Homey, or Hubitat; the supplied sources only give MatterCheck's type-level matrix for those platforms.
  • Skip if you own a different MIWA lock, because MIWA says only PiACK HOME PG can connect to Matter devices.
