The SwitchBot S10 is a Wi-Fi Matter robot vacuum and mop with a separate auto-empty dock and a water station. MatterCheck's CSA record for the S10 lists it as a certified Matter robot_vacuum type, and MatterCheck's robot_vacuum type matrix says robot vacuums pair with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant, Homey, and Hubitat. Product-specific platform tests are not yet reviewed in the SKU record, so the platform table below is type-level.

SKU record last checked 2026-10-22.

SwitchBot S10 Matter transport and CSA certification

The SKU record lists the S10 as a Wi-Fi Matter device with no Thread role, so it uses Wi-Fi rather than Thread. For the implications of that transport choice, see MatterCheck's Thread vs Wi-Fi guide. The CSA DCL record for the S10 shows VID 5015 and PID 2030, maps product name S10, and corresponds to the Matter robot_vacuum device type. SwitchBot's SKU record also carries the CSA certification CSA255B2MAT46340-24 with a certified date of 2025-08-20. The DCL record includes a custom commissioning flow URL to SwitchBot's "Getting-Started-Using-SwitchBot-Floor-Cleaning-Robot-S10-Video" support article.

Across this type matrix, pairing and control are Yes on all seven platforms. Apple Home is the one No for starting automations. Amazon Alexa's starts-automations cell is Unknown in MatterCheck's matrix. Every other automation trigger or action cell, including Hubitat, is Yes. See MatterCheck's platform comparison for a broader controller view. For Home Assistant specifically, the matrix says yes across all four cells; SmartHomeScene's June 2024 review includes a Home Assistant setup section.

SwitchBot S10 setup, water station, and app notes

The reviewed setup is mainly SwitchBot app-based; the available reviews do not include controller-by-controller onboarding steps for Apple, Google, Amazon, SmartThings, Homey, or Hubitat. For general Matter pairing help, see MatterCheck's pairing guide.

S10 app setup from the reviews

  • MakeUseOf's August 2024 review says to charge the S10 in its auto-empty station for at least 30 minutes before starting in-app setup.
  • SmartHomeScene's June 2024 review found the SwitchBot app walks through the S10 manual visually during onboarding, and mapping begins after the robot is added.
  • Trusted Reviews' August 2024 review and The Ambient's December 2024 review both say to mark the water station's rough location in the app after mapping so the robot can find it.
  • The app offers one or two passes, four suction modes, and two water levels, plus room-by-room settings (Trusted Reviews, The Ambient) and vacuum-only or vacuum-and-mop modes (The Ambient).
  • Multiple maps are supported, but Trusted Reviews says any floor you want to mop needs its own water station, and only one floor can have one.
  • Trusted Reviews and The Ambient found a collision-reduction mode enabled by default; its wording says it avoids cleaning corners and edges. The Ambient advises checking this setting if edge cleaning matters.

S10 water station battery and docking failures

Several reviews cover situations where the water station appears dead or the S10 cannot dock with it. In Trusted Reviews' August 2024 review, the water station battery was dead out of the box, so the robot could not locate it until David Ludlow charged the station via its USB-C input. The Ambient's December 2024 review describes the same flat-battery issue and notes the manual does not mention it. MakeUseOf's August 2024 review says the water station is battery-powered and topped up by the S10, and to briefly charge the water station if the activation light won't come on. Android Authority's September 2024 review also warns that an improperly connected clean-water hose can leak; its reviewer used a separate SwitchBot Water Leak Detector, which is not in the base kit.

SwitchBot S10 review findings and specs

  • Connectivity and integrations: SmartHomeScene and MakeUseOf list Wi-Fi and Matter. Android Police lists Alexa and Google Assistant; MakeUseOf also lists IFTTT and SmartThings.
  • Cleaning hardware: 6,500Pa suction; 360° LiDAR; one rubber roller, one side brush, and a Revo Roll mop roller installed from the side.
  • Dust capacity: 310ml onboard bin and a 4L auto-empty dust bag. The Ambient lists replacement bags at $15/£15 for four; Trusted Reviews lists £14.99 for four.
  • Water system: water station needs no power outlet, can fit under kitchen cabinets, and refills/drains the S10. Optional external water tank is $79.99 (Android Authority); The Ambient lists the add-on kit at $80/£80.
  • Battery and runtime: 4,000mAh battery; SmartHomeScene lists 140 minutes on the lowest power setting, while Android Police and MakeUseOf list 220 minutes.
  • Dimensions and weight: 365x365x115mm or 14.37x14.37x4.53 inches; 6,360g or 12.13 pounds.
  • Price and warranty: $1,199.99 MSRP, with reviews noting discounts from $799.99 to $900; replacement mop two-pack $30; one-year warranty.

Mopping reviews split by surface and stain type. Trusted Reviews and The Ambient found mopping excellent on open ground but weak at edges. Android Police's Hagop Kavafian found the brush roller less effective on dry or hard stains and reported uneven water distribution. AndroidGuys' Scott Webster says the 10N downward pressure and rolling motion handle fresh spills and light stains better than dried grime. Vacuuming was strong in the middle of hard floors in Trusted Reviews' test, but two passes on carpet left a trace, and edges also struggled. Obstacle avoidance also varies: Trusted Reviews says the S10 avoided fake dog mess but ran into a cable, while Android Police and AndroidGuys report frequent bumps into furniture and cables. Noise is a repeated drawback, especially mopping and self-cleaning, in Android Police, AndroidGuys, and MakeUseOf reviews.

SwitchBot S10 verdict

  • Buy if you want automatic water refill/drain and can place the water station near plumbing, or are willing to add the external tank.
  • Buy if you value low daily maintenance from the self-cleaning roller mop, hot-air mop drying, and 4L auto-empty dust bag.
  • Skip if edge and corner cleaning is a priority; reviews consistently found edge performance weak and a corner-avoiding mode on by default.
  • Skip if you need dependable obstacle avoidance around cables, toys, or furniture legs; multiple reviewers report bumps and cable pickups.
  • Skip if noise during mopping or self-cleaning is a problem, or if two docks and plumbing add too much installation overhead.
