Yandex Presence Sensor: Matter over Wi-Fi radar presence detection
The Yandex Presence Sensor (part number YNDX-00525) is a mmWave radar presence sensor that connects to Matter over Wi-Fi. It is CSA-certified as an occupancy sensor (device type 0x0107) under certificate CSA26078MAT49668-24, certified 2026-01-29, with Matter 1.4. Yandex says it works with the Дом с Алисой app and a Yandex Station or Hub that supports Matter over Wi-Fi; Yandex hubs do not accept Matter over Thread devices. For non-Yandex platforms, MatterCheck's type matrix says motion/occupancy sensors pair and trigger automations on all seven platforms, but no product-specific test report exists for YNDX-00525 yet. See the Matter Occupancy Sensor by Platform: What Pairs and Triggers page for the full matrix.
CSA certification and Matter transport for YNDX-00525
The CSA DCL record identifies the device as Yandex Presence sensor, vendor ID 0x132F (4911), product ID 0x020D (525), part number YNDX-00525. The CSA product page lists firmware version 31, hardware version 1.0, transport interfaces Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and primary device type ID 0x0107 (occupancy sensor). The specification version is Matter 1.4. The sensor is an end product and TIS/TRP tested. Yandex's support page states that only Matter over Wi-Fi devices can be added to the Yandex smart home; Thread devices cannot be connected to Yandex speakers or the Yandex Hub. For Matter transport background, see MatterCheck's Matter Thread vs Wi-Fi guide.
Yandex Presence Sensor platform support at a glance
These are MatterCheck's type-level matrix answers for motion/occupancy sensors, not product-specific test results for the Yandex Presence Sensor. No dated hands-on report or official platform document confirms product-specific behaviour on Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant, Homey or Hubitat yet.
| Platform | Pairs | Control | Starts automations | Controlled by automations |

| Apple Home | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
| Google Home | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
| Amazon Alexa | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |

Because YNDX-00525 is Matter over Wi-Fi (not Thread), it avoids the Thread border-router requirement that affects the Ductech TARUIE 4in1 on Apple Home and Google Home. That transport difference is the single most important compatibility factor for this sensor. For more on hub requirements, see Do you need a Matter hub or Thread border router?
Yandex's own documentation covers only the Yandex smart home with Алиса. The product page says the sensor needs the Дом с Алисой app and a Yandex Station with Matter support. Yandex's supported-devices page lists the YNDX-00525 under presence sensors and says Yandex devices can also be connected to a third-party hub with Matter over Wi-Fi support, but it does not name Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant, Homey or Hubitat. For general multi-platform pairing behaviour, see MatterCheck's Matter multi-admin sharing guide.
Yandex Presence Sensor setup in Дом с Алисой
Yandex's official setup steps are: open the Дом с Алисой app, tap the menu in the top right, then Устройство умного дома → Поиск Matter. Choose the hub you want to pair with, bring the Matter device close to the hub, put the device into pairing mode according to its instructions, and tap Готово. Select a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network; if you have two networks, choose the one without "5" or "5G" in the name. Scan the QR code on the device or in its manual, or enter the 11-digit numeric code manually. Yandex says pairing usually takes up to 20 seconds.
Yandex's troubleshooting page says the device and the Yandex Station or Hub must be on the same local Wi-Fi network, within 5 metres with no obstacles during pairing, and the phone should be on 2.4 GHz before pairing. Recommended router settings include 802.11b/g/n mode, channel 1, 6 or 11, 20 MHz channel width, mDNS/Bonjour enabled, multicast allowed within the local network, multicast-to-unicast disabled, and DHCP enabled. If pairing still fails, Yandex advises contacting support. For general pairing failures, see MatterCheck's Matter device not pairing guide.
Yandex Presence Sensor specs and reported limits
- Yandex's characteristics page lists the model as YNDX-00525, dimensions 67 × 30 mm (height × diameter), net weight 65 g.
- Detection angle is 120° horizontal and 70° vertical; optimal distance to objects is 0.5 to 6 m, maximum distance 8 m.
- Power is 5 V, maximum current 1.5 A, USB Type-C connector; the included adapter is rated 100–240 V input and 5 V / 1.5 A output, protection class 2.
- Operating temperature is +5°C to +40°C; allowable relative humidity is 20–95% without condensation.
- The radar module uses a 24 GHz mmWave sensor with 120° detection angle and 8 m range.
- The CSA product page and Yandex's product page say the sensor detects up to 3 people or objects at once. Yandex's characteristics page radar-module table says up to 5 people and up to 5 detection zones.
- Yandex says the sensor has a built-in light sensor, records no video or audio, and can run scenarios without internet.
- Yandex says the sensor can be wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted, placed in a corner or on a table; the included USB Type-C cable is 1.5 m long.
- Yandex warns that a heavy power cable can rotate the sensor and shift the marked zones in the app; use a cable with a small connector body that fits in the sensor's foot.
- Warranty is 1 year; service life is 2 years, according to Yandex's characteristics page.
Yandex Presence Sensor verdict
- Buy if you use the Yandex smart home with Алиса and want a Matter over Wi-Fi mmWave presence sensor that Yandex lists as tested and compatible.
- Buy if you want zone-based presence scenarios in the Дом с Алисой app, with Yandex claiming accuracy to 0.5 m and independent scenarios per zone.
- Buy if you need a presence sensor with no camera or audio recording and a built-in light sensor for privacy-sensitive rooms.
- Buy if you want a Matter over Wi-Fi presence sensor that does not require a Thread border router, unlike Thread-based presence sensors such as the Ductech TARUIE 4in1.
- Skip if you need Thread connectivity: Yandex says its Stations and Hub cannot connect Matter over Thread devices.
- Skip if you need documented product-specific behaviour on Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant, Homey or Hubitat; MatterCheck's matrix for this type is Yes for pairing and control, but no product-specific report confirms the Yandex sensor on those platforms yet. If you use Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant, Homey or Hubitat, the Matter over Wi-Fi transport and occupancy device type mean pairing should work per MatterCheck's type matrix, but no product-specific report confirms it — treat this as unverified and check the platform's own Matter device list before buying.
