Dyson TP12 Purifier Cool DE-NOX Matter support
The Dyson TP12 Purifier Cool DE-NOX, sold as the Dyson Purifier Cool PC2 De-NOx TP12, is a Wi-Fi fan and air purifier. MatterCheck's SKU record lists this model as a CSA-certified Matter device (CSA25662MAT46516-50, certified 2025-08-25) mapped to the fan air purifier type, with Wi-Fi transport and no Thread role. MatterCheck's type-level matrix for fan air purifiers gives Yes pairing on Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant, and Homey, and Partial pairing on Hubitat; no product-specific platform test for this Dyson model is reviewed yet.
Matter transport and CSA certification for TP12
MatterCheck's SKU record lists Wi-Fi as the Matter transport and an empty Thread role, so this TP12 should not require a Thread border router. For the distinction, see MatterCheck's Matter Wi-Fi vs Thread guide.
CSA DCL model record (vid 5022, pid 1) names the product "Purifier Cool De-NOx," product label "TP12 DYSON PURIFIER COOL DE-NOX," part numbers "541322-01 , 546530-01," and deviceTypeId 45. MatterCheck maps deviceTypeId 45 to fan_air_purifier. The certificate is CSA25662MAT46516-50, certified 2025-08-25. The DCL record does not print a firmware version or a Matter spec-version integer.
Fan air purifier platform matrix for Dyson TP12
These are MatterCheck's type-level matrix answers for the fan_air_purifier device type, not a product-specific test result. TP12-specific platform behavior has not been reviewed. See MatterCheck's fan air purifier support guide for context.
| Platform | Pairs | Control | Starts automations | Controlled by automations |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apple Home | Yes | Yes | Unknown | Yes |
| Google Home | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Amazon Alexa | Yes | Yes | Unknown | Yes |
| SmartThings | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Home Assistant | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Homey | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Hubitat | Partial | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Apple Home and Amazon Alexa show Unknown in the "Starts automations" column. Hubitat pairing is Partial while the other six platforms are Yes.
TP12 platform comparison across the Matter matrix
Google Home, SmartThings, Home Assistant, and Homey have Yes marks across pairing, control, starting automations, and being controlled by automations in this type-level matrix. Apple Home and Amazon Alexa pair and control as Yes and can be controlled by automations, but their ability to start automations is Unknown. Hubitat pairs Partial but has Yes control and Yes in both automation columns. Because the TP12 uses Wi-Fi rather than Thread, a Thread border router is not needed for Matter transport. If you share the TP12 across ecosystems, see Matter multi-admin sharing.
TP12 setup and app pairing details
The CSA DCL record says for this TP12: "The Matter QR code and Manual pairing code would be able to be accessed from Settings and Smart home." Dyson product pages say to control and monitor air quality using the MyDyson app, set schedules, and use "hands-free with compatible voice services." The India page adds that MyDyson functionality requires the app plus Wi-Fi or mobile data and Bluetooth 4.0 support, with voice-service specifics directed to the MyDyson app.
No supplied source gives exact Apple Home, Google Home, SmartThings, Home Assistant, Homey, or Hubitat pairing menus for the TP12. If a Matter pairing step fails, MatterCheck has a device-not-pairing guide.
TP12 voice-assistant reports
In 20minutos's 15 September 2025 review, Marta Gascón wrote that she linked the TP12 with Alexa without problems. In Fanaticos del Hardware's 25 July 2025 analysis, the reviewer said Alexa compatibility was not yet enabled in Spain and called the product information unclear. 20minutos also mentions Siri and Google Home as voice assistants; Fanaticos del Hardware mentions Google Assistant. These are voice-assistant reports, not Matter controller certification tests.
Dyson TP12 specs and filter limits
- Dyson US product page: 10 speed settings, 350° oscillation, base diameter with plate 8.7 in, total height 41.3 in, weight 10.8 lb, cord 5.9 ft; combined HEPA+K-Carbon filter, filter life 1 year.
- Dyson India product page: 1050 mm tall, 220 mm base, 4.9 kg, 350° oscillation, room coverage 81 m³ according to POLAR, sound level 61.5 dB max, standby below 0.5 W, cord 1.8 m. It lists HEPA+K-Carbon replacement every 12 months based on 12 hours a day, while the formaldehyde-destroying catalytic filter never needs replacing.
- Coolblue's listing for product number 963093 gives Coolblue's tested max surface as 27 m² and a 46.2 dB maximum noise level; Dyson India prints 61.5 dB max, so the two listings differ.
- Dyson US says HEPA H13 grade filtration captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns; Dyson India says fully sealed three-stage filtration captures 99.95% of ultra-fine particles. Dyson India's FAQ says it is a fan, not an air conditioner, and the K-Carbon filter is impregnated with potassium carbonate to adsorb 50% more nitrogen dioxide.
- Price: Dyson US lists $849.99; Dyson India lists ₹54,900; 20minutos cites 699 euros.
Dyson TP12 review observations
In 20minutos's 15 September 2025 review, Marta Gascón called the fully assembled unit light at under 5 kg and easy to start, but said the light weight can make it unstable and it can be too big for small flats. She noted it was a bit quieter and somewhat stronger as a fan than the model she previously used. She said the replacement HEPA+K-Carbon filter costs 99 euros.
In Fanaticos del Hardware's 25 July 2025 review, the reviewer praised the sealed three-stage filtration and K-Carbon NO2 improvement over the TP09, but listed the 699€ price, the fact that it does not replace an air conditioner, the low-weight instability, and the Spain Alexa limitation as negatives. Dyson.com customer reviews show 4.5 stars from 838 ratings and 76% recommend; KB9518 on May 26, 2025 called it quiet and effective, and Ryan from Phoenix, AZ on May 16, 2025 praised quiet operation and air-quality monitoring in the app.
TP11 vs TP12 and Hot+Cool problem notes
Dyson's support page lists the Dyson Purifier Cool (TP11) and Dyson Purifier Cool De-NOx (PC2/TP12) as separate models, but none of the supplied sources gives a direct TP11-vs-TP12 comparison. The TP12 is not a Dyson Hot+Cool model; Dyson India's FAQ says the Cool PC2 De-NOx is a fan and "not an air conditioner." Coolblue's description says the fan function creates a cooling breeze but does not cool the air and space. The supplied sources do not contain a product-specific Hot+Cool problem report for this TP12.
Dyson TP12 Purifier Cool DE-NOX verdict
- Buy if you want a certified Wi-Fi Matter fan air purifier with Dyson's stated HEPA H13, K-Carbon NO2, and continuous formaldehyde-destruction claims, and you accept type-level Matter platform support rather than TP12-specific test reports.
- Buy if you mostly use Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant, or Homey, where fan_air_purifier pairing is Yes in the type matrix.
- Skip if you need TP12-specific platform verification, or Hubitat full pairing, where the type matrix is Partial.
- Skip if you expect active cooling or heating; Dyson states this is a fan, not an air conditioner.
- Skip if the 12-month HEPA+K-Carbon filter replacement cost is a problem; Spanish reviews cite 99 euros.
