The Schneider Electric Elko One Thermostat, sold in Norway as the ELKO One Matter termostat, is a 16 A relay thermostat that connects by Wi-Fi and lists Bluetooth as an additional transport interface alongside Wi-Fi (sources do not state its role). CSA records list the Matter platforms it can reach as Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings and “any other compatible platforms,” while MatterCheck’s thermostat type matrix gives pairing and control Yes for Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant, Homey and Hubitat.

Matter transport and CSA certification facts

The CSA product pages for the Elko One Thermostat list Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as the transport interfaces and Specification Version 1.2. Because the transport is Wi-Fi, setup does not rely on a Thread border router; MatterCheck’s Thread vs Wi-Fi guide explains that difference, and the Matter hub and Thread border router guide covers border-router needs.

ELKO’s Norwegian product page says the thermostat can be integrated into a Matter Wi-Fi network without a custom gateway and connected to a home assistant such as Alexa, Google or Siri. It also says the security is handled because everything works locally without cloud.

  • CSA241F9MAT43180-24, firmware 1.5.87.0, certified April 17, 2024.
  • CSA24263MAT43286-24, firmware 1.6.102.0, certified May 8, 2024.
  • CSA246B5MAT44392-24, certified November 4, 2024.

The CSA DCL model record identifies the product as Elko One Thermostat, listed with a thermostat device type. Both CSA-IoT product pages also say TIS/TRP Tested Yes and list hardware version 1.0.

MatterCheck type-level thermostat matrix for the Elko One

These are MatterCheck’s type-level matrix answers for Matter thermostats, not a lab test of this specific SKU. Cross-check the same table with other thermostat SKUs on the compare page, and see the Matter thermostat support guide for ecosystem coverage.

The CSA product description names Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Google Home and Samsung SmartThings, and says “any other compatible platforms.” It does not name Home Assistant, Homey or Hubitat individually, but those rows remain the MatterCheck type-level matrix values for thermostats.

What the type matrix says across platforms

For Matter thermostat devices, all seven platforms in the matrix are Yes for pairing and control. Automation triggers differ: Google Home, SmartThings, Home Assistant, Homey and Hubitat are Yes, while Apple Home and Amazon Alexa are Unknown for starting automations. All seven platforms are Yes for being controlled by automations. That aligns with the ELKO/CSA positioning of this thermostat as a device for Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Google Home and Samsung SmartThings voice/app control, with no product-specific hands-on test cited for the remaining rows.

Because this is a Wi-Fi Matter device, sharing it across several platforms follows the same Matter multi-admin path as other Matter Wi-Fi devices; MatterCheck’s multi-admin sharing guide covers that process. If pairing fails, see the Matter device not pairing guide.

Setup, local controls, and Elko One 16 A specs

The ELKO user guide for the Matter Thermostat 16 A, document DD00686115 dated 01/2026, covers setup with Matter-compatible smart home systems and lists these local menu areas:

  • Matter setup code
  • Installation instruction
  • Thermostat menu overview
  • Installer setting Level 1 and Level 2
  • User settings
  • Matter system
  • Setting the room temperature
  • Standalone setback schedule
  • Setting child lock manually
  • Switching on/off the heating mode
  • Over the air update
  • Resetting the device
  • Cleaning
  • LED indications
  • Troubleshooting
  • Technical data

ELKO states on the Norwegian product page that the thermostat can be programmed directly from the device through the menu and does not need wireless Wi-Fi to be installed; it can also be used as a standard stand-alone thermostat. The page says the product can choose between room sensor, floor sensor or maximum guard.

Elko One Thermostat verdict: buy or skip factors

  • Buy if you need a 16 A flush-mount Wi-Fi Matter thermostat for electric underfloor heating, electric radiators, hydronic underfloor heating, circulating pumps or motorised valves, with configurable sensor choice and up to 3.68 kW resistive load.
  • Buy if you want a Matter-certified thermostat that the CSA description positions for Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings and other Matter platforms, with local menu setup that does not require Wi-Fi for installation.
  • Skip if you need confirmed Home Assistant, Homey or Hubitat product-specific support; the type matrix is Yes, but the official CSA description only names Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Google Home and Samsung SmartThings.
  • Skip if you need a battery-powered or Thread device; this is a 230 V AC wired Wi-Fi/Bluetooth thermostat.
