Schneider Electric and Matter: Wiser, Schneider Home and Square D

By Rowan Hale, editor (pen name) · Reviewed 2026-10-28

Schneider Electric has Matter products across several brands, including certified Elko and Wiser devices, announced Schneider Home accessories for Apple Home Collection, and Square D Wi-Fi models listed on the CSA ledger. This guide explains which devices have Matter support and how to add them to Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings or Home Assistant.

Facts on this page come from the CSA's certified product listings and Distributed Compliance Ledger, Apple's Home Collection announcement, and MatterCheck's own tracking data. Product availability, certification status and platform support can change. MatterCheck tracks 4 Schneider Electric product records out of 389 products, and platform results are per device type and platform, not tests of specific Schneider products.

Schneider devices with built-in Matter

Two Schneider Electric devices are CSA-certified as native Matter products. The Elko One Thermostat is a Wi-Fi Matter thermostat certified on 4 November 2024 under certificate CSA246B5MAT44392-24. The CSA's Distributed Compliance Ledger lists it with device type thermostat.

The Temperature/Humidity Sensor is a Thread Matter sensor certified on 8 June 2026 under certificate CSA263OQMAT54186-24. The CSA's Distributed Compliance Ledger lists it with device type temperature/humidity sensor. Thread devices need a Thread border router.

The Schneider Home Smart Thermostat and Schneider Home Room Sensor are part of the Apple Home Collection announced in October 2026. Apple's Home Collection announcement describes them as Matter compatible and available in the US and Canada. The thermostat uses Matter over Thread, and Schneider Electric lists the room sensor as Matter over Thread. Certification for these two products was not confirmed at ship announcement, so check before buying. See Apple Home Collection ship dates for timing. For a full list of Schneider SKUs, see MatterCheck SKUs. To verify any certification claim, use how to check Matter certification.

The Wiser Hub 2nd Generation as a Matter bridge

The Wiser Hub 2nd Generation is certified as a Matter bridge. The CSA's Wiser Hub 2nd Generation listing shows certificate CSA261HBMAT51327-24, certified 30 March 2026, with Matter specification version 1.3 and Wi-Fi transport. The hub connects Wiser Zigbee devices and exposes them to Matter platforms. The CSA's Wiser Hub 2nd Generation (non-relay) listing shows a related non-relay variant with certificate CSA261HKMAT51336-24, also certified 30 March 2026.

Bridged Wiser devices are not individually Matter certified. The hub itself carries the certification, and the devices it bridges appear through the hub. For background on how Matter bridges expose Zigbee devices, see Matter bridges and Zigbee devices. Schneider's Wiser app is where Matter joining is switched on for the hub, but check Schneider's current Wiser user guide for the exact steps.

Square D Wi-Fi devices on the ledger

Three Square D Wi-Fi models appear as model records on the CSA Distributed Compliance Ledger under Schneider Electric's vendor ID: the Square D WiFi Dimmer (SQR226U1XXWM), Square D WiFi Switch (SQR141U1XXWM) and Square D Wifi Receptacle (SQR441U1XXWM). The CSA's Distributed Compliance Ledger lists these model records. A ledger listing is not proof of Matter certification. Check certification status before relying on Matter support, using how to check Matter certification.

Adding Schneider devices to Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings or Home Assistant

The general flow is the same for all Matter platforms: put the device into pairing mode, open the platform's app, choose to add a Matter accessory, and scan the Matter QR code or enter the numeric setup code. For the Wiser Hub, enable Matter joining in the Wiser app first, then add the hub as a Matter bridge in your chosen platform. Thread devices such as the Temperature/Humidity Sensor and the Schneider Home pair need a Thread border router on your network. The Elko One Thermostat uses Wi-Fi and does not need Thread.

Apple Home

Apple Home supports Matter thermostats and temperature/humidity sensors. You need an Apple Home hub such as a HomePod or Apple TV for remote access and automations. With iOS 18 or later, an iPhone can add and control Matter accessories without a hub, but Thread accessories need an iPhone 15 Pro or later or a Thread-enabled home hub. See Matter support in Apple Home.

Google Home

Google Home supports Matter thermostats and temperature/humidity sensors. A Google or Nest Matter hub is required, and Thread devices need a Thread border router. See Matter support in Google Home.

Amazon Alexa

Alexa supports Matter thermostats and temperature/humidity sensors. A Matter-enabled Echo or eero hub is required. See Matter support in Alexa.

SmartThings

SmartThings supports Matter thermostats and temperature/humidity sensors. A SmartThings-compatible hub is required, such as a standalone hub, Samsung TV or Station. See Matter support in SmartThings.

Home Assistant

Home Assistant supports Matter thermostats and temperature/humidity sensors. You need the Home Assistant Matter Server, and Thread devices need a Thread border router. See Matter support in Home Assistant.

For help choosing a Thread border router or Matter hub, see Matter hubs and Thread border routers. Once a device is paired to one platform, you can share it to a second platform using Matter multi-admin. See sharing a Matter device to a second platform.

What works in Matter

For thermostats, Matter supports pairing and control on Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings and Home Assistant. Automation actions such as setting temperature are supported on each of those platforms. Automation triggers from thermostat state are supported on Google Home, SmartThings and Home Assistant, and are unknown on Apple Home and Alexa. See Matter thermostat support.

For temperature and humidity sensors, Matter supports pairing and control on Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings and Home Assistant. Automation triggers from sensor readings are supported on each of those platforms. Sensors do not act as automation actions. See Matter temperature and humidity sensor support.

If pairing fails

If a Schneider device will not pair, check that the device is in pairing mode, that your Matter hub or Thread border router is on the same network, and that the platform app is up to date. For bridged Wiser devices, confirm Matter joining is enabled in the Wiser app. See what to do when a Matter device will not pair.
