Apple Home Collection: ship dates, prices and what to buy

Apple Home Collection is a nine-device smart home lineup co-designed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, announced 13 October 2026. The first devices ship in December 2026, with some following in early 2027. Prices run US$39.95 to US$399.95. The lock, thermostats and sensors support Matter; the cameras are Apple Home (HomeKit Secure Video) devices. This guide covers ship dates, regional availability, Matter compatibility and buying recommendations.

Ship dates and availability

Apple says the collection will be "available starting in December, with some ready for shipping in early 2027" (Mashable). Availability is regional, and not every device ships everywhere at launch:

All devices are sold through Apple's online store, the Apple Store app and Apple Store retail locations. Apple Retail also offers professional installation through ADT in the United States for an additional charge.

Matter compatibility, device by device

Smart Deadbolt Lock (Matter + Aliro). The only lock in the lineup. It uses Ultra Wideband (UWB) to detect an authorised user approaching and unlock automatically via a home key on a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch; you can also tap a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch, enter a PIN, or use a concealed backup key. Apple states it supports Matter and Aliro, and its core access functions run locally without an internet connection (FoneArena). On MatterCheck's matrix the door lock row is High on Apple Home. See the Matter smart lock guide.

Thermostats (Matter). The LG Smart Thermostat and Schneider Home Smart Thermostat both support Matter and offer Adaptive Temperature (on-device iPhone intelligence), Clean Energy Guidance in the contiguous US, energy-use insights and DIY on-device wire detection. On Apple Home the thermostat row is Med: it pairs, controls and runs as an automation action, but its trigger is still Unknown, so don't plan a thermostat state as the thing that starts an Apple Home automation. See the thermostat guide.

Sensors (Matter). The LG Temperature Sensor and Schneider Home Room Sensor are Matter temperature/humidity sensors. The temp/humidity row is High on Apple Home, so these are among the safest, cheapest starts — an automation can be triggered by a temperature or humidity reading. See the temperature and humidity sensor guide.

Cameras (Apple Home, not Matter). The four LG cameras and the video doorbell record up to 2.5K and are Apple Home / HomeKit Secure Video devices, not Matter accessories. A compatible Apple Home hub — Apple HomeView, HomePod, HomePod mini or Apple TV 4K — is required for monitoring, and full features (10-day event history, people/face/pet/package/vehicle recognition, natural-language search) need an eligible iCloud+ plan. Built-in storage keeps recording during Wi-Fi outages. MatterCheck does not yet track cameras in its matrix (Matter 1.5 camera support is being added separately). See the Matter cameras and video doorbells guide.

Frequently asked questions

When does the Apple Home Collection ship?

Apple says the collection is available starting in December 2026, with some devices shipping in early 2027. US and Canada get the full lineup at launch; the UK gets the LG camera suite only.

Which Apple Home Collection devices support Matter?

The LG Smart Deadbolt, both thermostats (LG and Schneider) and both sensors support Matter. The cameras and the video doorbell are Apple Home (HomeKit Secure Video) devices, not Matter.

Is Apple HomeView launching in Europe?

No. Apple says HomeView will not launch in the EU at this time because Siri AI is unavailable in iOS there, and the non-camera Home Collection items are listed as US and Canada at launch.

How we checked

Ship dates, prices and availability come from Apple's Home Collection announcement and independent coverage by FoneArena and Mashable. Matter support ratings come from the MatterCheck matrix v1.37, last checked 2026-10-17 to 2026-10-19. High confidence requires an official Apple statement covering the feature plus a dated hands-on test of that device type on Apple Home. See the methodology and how we accept third-party evidence.
